yeah... about what I wanted to say. it's not Crawford or Joel Q but we better not get too vast advantage or they'll uleash their goons
-
I love when the Wings come out flying and really push. they've just played a minute right at their net being 5-on-5. and it most certainly looked like we were on PP EDIT: yeay, I'm watching it on yahoo. pretty s***ty performance if you ask me
-
good job so far. Wings look focused and hard working and yeah... it looks like Joey finally wins a game BTW: who is our spare G on the bench?
-
Vishnevsky is light years ahead of Lillypads.

Holland is not gonna sign a player who carries huge risk, is demanding huge money under salary cap realms, is of basically unknown health status, and whose inspiration to play is unclear. and for once, he's 100% right. Bertuzzi was a dominant player once, but is he still? is it worth to gamble that much to check this? my answer is: hell no! we can have a fine gritty RW for those ~1.8M$ under the cap we have now. pass.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=2733679 I really like this guy's attitude. he's fair to himself and to others and has interesting view on some things. nice read!

I don't remember those exactly. I didn't follow that "fascinating" 2 teams/6 games period that closely

Quacks game after Steve retirement ceremony wins this contest, hands down
-
you mean Wings are producing yet another Vezina candidate here? anyway... I understand the team can not play 100% through an 80+ games season. perfectly fine with me. but if Babs is giving this team a break and lets it play sloppy, why the p*uck doesn't he rest Dom and put Joey in net????? is it Hasek or MacDonald who's groin-injury prone, huh?
-
Wings pushing and shooting, the other team scoring... 0-1
-
yeah... I was about to ask if there's anyone following the game, at all GO WINGS!
-
thay may be staying in playoff hunt for a while. and even if they fail before trade deadline, I really can't see them trading Sundin
-
I like this idea. but not only him. Modder is great and would be a nice fit to our roster, but he doesn't address all Wings needs. I think I'd take Tkachuk or Guerin over Modder, though
-
gimme a rental like Guerin or Tkachuk. a playoff proven veteran who can score goals in playoffs, provide leadership and be a hardass when necessary. add a gritty 4th liner who can hit and agitate but stays out of the box (well... mostly) and I'm fine keep the rest of the team intact, try our chances in this playoffs but keep focus on development of youth for next seasons if there's however any chance for Wings to sign Tucker I'd say: go for it. gonna be painful to watch him in Winged Wheel but if we get to WCF the pain will definitely cease
-
he hasn't done anything special in a long time. 3,5M$ is a whoping price for such no-show. that's more than what Zetterberg or Schneids are making, and just a tad lower than Lang's money. I can't see Kenny pulling a trade for him. even Kenny would not do something like that. there's muuuuch better options on the market. plus: Samsonov does not anyhow address Wings needs. end of story
-
I like Modin. always been a team player with good work ethic. and he actually fits here among 5 other Swedes (let's hope it's 4 then. yeah, I'm talking to you Lillypads) and my second pick is Darcy F*cker. sure, it'd pain me to see him wearing Winged Wheel but he could be a major playoff force for Wings.
-
I wish you're right. but knowing Holland I'd not count on this "out of Red Wings reach"... but the strategy you just described is definitely a good one
-
7 million for playoff no-show... ummm.... I think I need to get this s*** Greenstin is smoking or I'll miss the joke. does he seriously think Datsyuk is some kind of Eric Lindros and Holland is some Bobby Clarke?
-
no to Floppa. beyond him there's only turtle Lemieux left on my black-list of biggest embarassments. heck, even Belfour wouldn't make me puke that much Floppa is an Ape. he may be at Philly now but he's been and will always be a Divealanche to me. NO, NO, NO

if we're talking about ex-Wings I'd rather have Slava Kozlov. but since Thrashers are headed to playoffs I don't see any trade for him possible. I'm not sold on Lapointe, either. I always liked him, but I don't think he is THE star player we'd like to eventually see if Holland decides to upgrade this team and give it a shot on something. I don't think, however, Wings shuold trade too many picks or youth for star players. we've been rather succesful with developing new core from AHL to NHL now, and I'd not screw this mixture with a trade that adds skills but substracts team chemistry and/or sacrifices our future. if I was Holland I'd be looking for a cheap, physicall body which can skate and some veteran playoff-proven center with a lot of leadership. it seems to be the best way to me
-
why on earth everybody is now trying to trade Canadiens players? the team is working fine right now and even if it has some weaknesses why address them now that virtually every team is in contention for playoff berth (well... except for the Blackhawks, but that's an old story )??? tell me, plaese
-
Lang is lazy and he sucks period two facts: - he played mediocre (for a player of his calibre) in 2005-06 regular season - he was impact player in playoffs and could make it to an MVP if the rest of the team had responded better for me he's worth the money he gets. sure, I'm not gonna give up on "Lang is lazy and he sucks " because it's already grown into LGW tradition but the guy earned my respect in playoffs. he's higher on my list of "best of Red Wings" than Datsyuk for now

soccer itself is single most boring team game except for possibly team poker or curling. it's so disgusting to see 22 guys occasionally chasing there and back again for 90 minutes, zero action and zero goals... yikes! I've been cursed with living in a part of the world where this crap is most popular sport and people barely even realize there are other great team games, where skill counts. unlike soccer where you simply play some variant of trap and win a medal (aka Greece 4yrs ago). the reason there is world cup of soccer every 4 years is because this $hit is very popular, and FIFA (the soccer association) has huge marketing. a part of the popularity lies in the fact, that you don't need any equipment to play - just some ball. that's all. there's nothing overly cool or interesting in soccer.
