the Michigan Wolverines' hockey team mirrored the Red Wings season this year (or vice versa, I suppose, cuz U-M's season started and ended first) -both had pretty decent expectations by their standards (both are franchise with high expectations) -both had a bad start to the season (at least partly due to injury) -both made an amazing run at the end of the season to make the playoffs -both got knocked out in the 2nd round of the playoffs also 2008 was a pretty good year for both.... Wings won the Cup, and Michigan made it to overtime of the Frozen Four... the best they've done in my life (since I've been paying attention, at least) GO WINGS! GO BLUE!

this website is the reason I tend know about goal horns and songs... it's pretty good. I actually downloaded most (if not all) of them and imported them into my NHL10 on the 360. pretty rockin!

I think the Flyers actually use the same one... either way, I agree with you. the song is teh suck!

I was thinking the same thing. Also, sorry to bring up bad memories again, but last year's SCF: Game 1: DET 3, Pit 1 Game 2: DET 3, Pit 1 Game 3: Det 2, PIT 4 Game 4: Det 2, PIT 4 Game 5: DET 5, Pit 0 Game 6: Det 1, PIT 2 Game 7: DET 1, Pit 2 TOTAL GOALS: DETROIT - 17 PITTSBURGH - 14 and THIS was a SEVEN game series! This year's Sharks/Wings series was 2 less games, and each team scored the same amount of goals and and the Wings lost... just a weird stat. O_O EDIT: typo on Game 2's goals... I originally had DET 3, Pit 2 -- but it was DET 3, Pit 1. and the total I originally had was DETROIT 17, PITTSBURGH 15. so the opposing team scored one LESS goal total last year (PIT - 14) compared to this year (SJ - 15)... still weird!

Before the playoffs started, I had Washington sweeping Vancouver in the Finals... and after the 1st round I figured it would be VAN vs PIT in the Finals. Now I'm predicting it will be Sharks vs. Bruins. I'd want the Bruins to win, but I think the Sharks would take it. basically this post shows you how bad I was at predicting the p-offs this year!
