I find myself holding my breath a lot during these games - I literally forget to breathe until suddenly I realize, "gee, I'm getting a little lightheaded here." If I remember to breathe I'll be okay...nervous as hell and sitting on the edge of my seat all night, but okay.

I'll be a nervous wreck, but I'll be watching. I might have to get up and leave the room for a bit if things get too tense, and since my folks will be home I'll have to bite my tongue at times (watching the Wings can sometimes bring out my inner sailor, as in I cuss like one... ). As for the question - NO, I will NOT watch if the Pens win. It'll be like a punch in the gut to lose, then to watch Crybaby Cindy and Frankenmalkin get their grubby, sticky paws on the Holy Grail of Hockey will just be too much to take. But that's not gonna happen - the Wings are going to WIN Game 7 on Friday!

Actually it was Two Kids and an Old Goat, and Hull himself gave the line that nickname. I remember when Stevie was playing on a line with Draper and Maltby (start of 2005-06 season, I think?) FSD tried to give that line a name and I think they went so far as to have fans vote for their favorite among four choices. I remember one of them was The Y2K line (a Y - Yzerman, and 2 K's - Kris & Kirk). It didn't really stick and Stevie was soon off Draper and Maltby's line.

Lids is one of the LEAST penalized players in the NHL - it's news when he takes a penalty! He's widely considered to be one of the best, if not THE best, defenceman in NHL history!! Plus, he's a total class act and he's probably one of the least conceited guys in the league. Cleary this dorkmeister doesn't have a clue about hockey.

I've got Stevie's sig on quite a few things, but the last time I got anything signed was at the Wings' team hotel in Columbus in 2006, just three months before he retired. I got him a couple of times at Art Van in 2004 and 2005, but before that it was quite a few years since he had done a public signing. He used to to private signings, but personally I'd rather be there when he's signing. I'm not even sure if he does the private signings anymore.

Nick is also called "The Perfect Human." I head Cheli call Stevie "Yzie" in interviews a few times before Stevie retired. I remember when people used to call him "Silk." Long time ago... IIRC Dats took a puck off the foot in the Chicago series and that is what caused his problem. On WXYT this morning, Pat Caputo said that Dats is "limping noticeably." So he may not be on crutches, but it doesn't sound like he's close to returning, either. I feel bad for him, too - you work all season to get to this point and then you can't be on the ice to be a part of everything. I'm sure he's being buoyed by the way the Wings are playing without him, though. Ad Lilja - wow, he's still getting daily headaches!! I'm starting to wonder if his career might be over. I mean, four months and he's still getting headaches! That cannot be good.

Compare the two teams man to man, and the Wings have the better roster, top to bottom at all positions. There is just no comparison. Of course I don't expect Pittsburgh to come out on the ice waving white flags of surrender - they're going to play hard and try to prove to the hockey world that Marian Hossa was wrong when he decided to not sign with the Pens so he could go play for a team that had a chance of winning the Cup. Also, the Penguins haven't really played anyone to the level of the Red Wings yet. Sure, they looked impressive against the Crapitals and in sweeping the Hurricanes, but come on...they're the Crapitals and the Hurricanes. Detroit had a much harder route to the Final and were tested more, especially against Anaheim, and especially game 5 against Chicago with no Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Ericsson AND Draper. And they still won. Convincingly. It's probably going to be a hard-fought, tough, physical series, much like Anaheim. But in the end, the Wings will prevail. My heart says five games; my head says six, so I'll go with six. But I'm hoping for five so the Wings can win on home ice.
