Canes win this one... The Pens only beat the Caps cause rookie Varlamov had a couple terrible games with several weak goals. Ward will be solid. If it's CAR/DET final it'll be similar to the ducks series (but a bit easier i'd think)... an even better goalie... one very serious scoring threat with some unexpected depth, and underrated offensive dmen (but they don't measure up to the ducks)

I watch the game and realize that none of my insignificant and random behaviours in any given day are neither going to affect the way that these teams play, nor the bounces that do/don't occur. Stop stressing out and just enjoy the game. Though I suppose if all of the things listed in this thread contribute to your personal enjoyment of the game then feel free to cover yourself in peanut butter and mayonnaise every time the wings score, and threaten the plant in the corner for each missed call by the refs knowing that you can look back after the game regardless of the result and be content in the ficticious and egocentric belief that you did all that you could to help the team.

That is plain disgusting! As for the argument that that's the way Ducks fans are... Every sports team has fans like this and if you've ever been to a home game, you've seen it at the Joe too. This has nothing to do with the Ducks organization, their fanbase as a whole, or the area that they live in. These sorts of low life scum reside all over the place and cheer for every team. These ones made a decision that people supporting the black jersey's last night were good, and the rest were bad. People on this board are now doing the exact same thing and you should be ashamed of the fact that you're creating an outgroup to hate over something so petty as sports put on for entertainment. Where does it stop for you people? Internationally you hate everyone that's not american. Then you're against everyone that's not part of your state. Then an interstate rivalry comes up and it's divided even further. Stop coming up with arbitrary reasons to hate EVERYONE!

I just got my ticket! Sec 226c Row 13 for $40 !!!!! I have some friends sitting in 105 row 11 .... can anyone tell me how careful they are at the joe with the seating? if i see an empty seat by my friends and sneak down will they toss me? or just check my ticket and tell me to go back to my seat, or what?

Great game for the captain Mule was huge for us too Ozzy didn't look too solid tonight... I was worried on more than a few occasions... If the Ducks burried their chances (i.e. Ryan w/ the open net, ozzy diving too far and nearly getting caught nowhere near the net, multiple posts), this game could have been out of reach The team in general was a step behind the pace of the first round. Hopefully they turn back into form after this one and Raffi comes back soon. Can't wait for the next game!

Yeah... in the post-game Babs said that Ozzy is 100%, but I think it's pretty obvious that isn't true. It'd be tough to throw Conklin into the fire like that. They knew they just needed to win one period to get a lengthy rest. The fact that he was able to go back in is slightly reassuring though. It probably means that they think the time off will be enough for him to get better.

Shanny's jig is of course a favourite. and I love hearing Detroit Rock City at the Joe... it always pumps me up for games

Hockeystreams opens the games in quicktime for me... to go fullscreen you can either select it under "view" in the quicktime menu bar, or you can just use the keyboard shortcut "Command + F" ps. I posted a thread here on LGW when ATDHE went down to find out about HockeyStreams After getting feedback from people I ended up signing up for the one day membership at $5.99 and then when I was satisfied and wanted to extend my membership I just sent them an email and they credited the cost of the one day membership towards my new one. The HQ quality is tolerable, but the HD package is worth the upgrade. I think they're even planning to have ALL playoff games in HD-Plus (which you get access to as an HD member) I only watch games wirelessly from my laptop and have no speed problems. Every now and then there is a slight hiccup in the service, but when that happens it gets addressed very quickly and it really isn't that big of a deal. This is far and away the best deal out there so I do recommend it... For those that are constantly traveling, you get access to the HQ feeds as well if you're an HD member and those stream under 100k/sec so even if you're at a hotel without top notch speed you should be able to get by watching it on slightly lower quality for that game feel free to PM me if you have any other questions... i've been pretty happy with my service with them... they also seem to be showing bonus stuff... i.e. UFC events, WHC, and last night they had TSN and CBC playoff previews

Helm is a given, the coach has said so himself The last spot will be a toss-up between Kopecky and Maltby... but I'd think Maltby will go in because of his veteran status - Kopecky hasn't played a post-season game and Babs said the other day that he expects to see a new side to certain vets instantly once the playoffs start because that's what they live for (specifying Maltby, Draper, Osgood) Game 1 is big for nerves... I don't expect to see Kopecky until game 2 or 3

you could also throw in the idea of a rule that i think mls has where every team is allowed to pay one player whatever they want and have it not count against the cap (so every team's highest paid guy just goes off the books)... maybe they could implement this in the case of the salary cap lowering to help teams cope (though it's not going to happen... it's just amusing to think about)

With the recent loss of ATDHE and Justin.tv for watching Wings games online I am looking for other ways to see the games (since I'm an out of town'er like many). NHL.com's pricing is too much and I've heard bad things about the quality and reliability, but this site is considerably cheaper so I though it may be worthwhile to spend the few bucks and not have to miss half of the first period every night trying to find a stream (and the ones that do come up typically suck) I was just wondering if anyone on here has been using HockeyStreams.com and how legit they are. - Are they legally operating or might they be shut down soon too? - They have two options for streaming quality - How far apart are they? - Does it ever lag? - Any other problems? I'd just like a bit of user feedback if anyone can offer some before I give them my credit card info. Any help would be great. Thanks!

you have been VERY lucky... I want to be first in line for your tickets the next time you can't make it to a game... Sitting at the glass would be a dream come true... some of us don't have the money for that

I'm not one to say that what other people are doing at the games is wrong, but personally I don't understand it either. I live a few hours away from JLA so the drive plus the costs tend to limit me to about one game a year... That said, when I go I try to take in every ounce of it and just enjoy the chance to be there in person. I always get there super early and hang around the glass in the wings end for the warm-ups, I try to stay in at my seat for the entire game (even intermissions if possible... just because it is so crazy), and no matter what the score is I'll never leave the game even a second early. The experience turns me into a kid and the whole thing is just so fun! I think it's unfortunate that the majority of fans don't get that same feeling or experience out of it, and I'm sure it's because they get to go to games a lot more often. I just don't see the point in spending all that money to go if you're going to miss a lot of the game getting there late, trying to leave early, getting snacks, whatever... I heard the same things that the wings said about the fans in sweden that wont leave their seats because they just dont want to miss a minute of the action and its for the same reason.. they never get to see the wings (or any NHL) play live. No matter where you are there are going to be lackluster fans, but I do think that there are a lot of cities that get more of the excited ones out than the wings do an a per game basis... but on the bright side, not having so many excited fans makes it easier for me to get to the glass during the pre-game stuff

If you have sufficient internet for the HD streams (>1000KBps) I would recommend opting to go with that as the HD streams are TV quality. Like any website with streaming media lag may pop up here and there but rest assured its an extremely rare occurance. There is no cancellation charges as you are not bound by your subscription. It is your option to decide how long you\'d like to subscribe for at a time.
