he's an upgrade on lilja, but not a huge amount. he's a bit of a shadow of his former self now..god knows why. he hasn't thrown a decent hip-check since he went back to LA

Quncey or Helm maybe.. but then i am biased. i'm an admitted Hudlerphile and i generally react very strongly to any article that says to trade him.

it's not that it's an "overpayment". Sundin is a UFA after this season, and has said in repeated interviews that Toronto is his home. Unless they sign him to an extension, and then trade him it would be incredibly dangerous to look at it at anything but a rental. i would hate to give up that much for a player that might only be there for a few months. Getting Sundin is no guarantee of winning a cup. He'd be our 2nd line centre on a line with who? Samuelsson? Franzen? Cleary? I'm not seeing him set the world alight with those players as line mates. i'd hate to give up 2 young players with extreme potential and a pick for him. The post season is an utter crapshoot anyway, and i don't see Sundin making such an edge. It's just not worth the risk imho. but then i've proven time and time again i know nothing.

well then the price is too high... a future top 2 d man (hopefully) a top 6 winger and a 2nd in a deep draft for a 37 year old rental... i know sundin's been a great player, but i'd pass on that deal in a second.

the only type of rollover you can do is with bonues, but that happens the other way.. you can roll over a bonus to count against next seasons cap and not the current years. and yes...i'm 99% certain AO will get an offer sheet if he doesn't resign before he goes RFA. Probably on the 1st day of his free agency. I bet the sucks offer him one.

i actually REALLY like Any Given Sunday, because it prefectly reflects the utterly s*** society that the NFL has become, and most sports... hockey movies..Miracle is the only one i watch time and time again..great film

nice bit of skill... kopecky's always had it. he just doesn't show it enough. i like the guy. if he continues to improve he could go the holmstrom route for us...

Streit took over Souray's job and has done as good a job on the PP (nearly anyway), with the added advantage that he isn't a total defensive liability like Souray is

i may be mad, but i was under the impression that we've been playing Huds/Flip/Sammy recenty, not Cleary who's been with Maltby/Draper and now Franzen?

Hudler still seems to be everyone's trade bait, when he's shown a hell of a lot more this year than Franzen, Samuelsson and Filpulla... if we trade him before he hits his prime i'll be officially "PISSED RIGHT OFF", but i don't honestly believe Ken Holland would be stupid enough to do that, unless Huds took a serious downturn.

i know it seems to me though, that some of us (me included) were expecting Hudler to be a star and play 1st line minutes from the time we drafted him. He was incredibly highly touted. He's always shown flashes of incredible skill, even as far back as when he was first up with the Wings under Lewis, but he's never been consistent. If he can get that....he could seriously be a Z/Dats type player for us.. no to mention he's a fiesty little s*** after the whistle blows i'm glad he's coming good

i have that with my soccer team. i've supported them for 26 years and i never see them win. They played last night and i started watching. Went 1-0 down in 2 minutes. I left the room, came back 20 minutes later and they let in a 2nd as i was watching.. i thought bugger this, went and did something else.. THEY WON 3-2!.. anyway great game by the wings.. Huds is having a great season all of a sudden, considering he started so slow

urgh... i hate not being able to see games.. i don't have any local coverage (you don't say...) no centre ice no centre ice online no vs no nhl network i get 1 GAME A WEEK...and it's on at literally 2 in the morning.. is it worth moving to the US or Canada just so i can watch hockey at normal times?

Hartigans been recalled from Grand Rapids.. looks like he'll center the 4th line with Drake and Downey... Kopecky/Cleary/Franzen as the ALL NEW GRIND LINE!!! at least Huds will get some 2nd line minutes.
