don;t count on it. They;res 17 defensive prospects there and only 7 spots available. With Doughty, Schenn, etc there as well you can pretty muchn say only 3 or so slots are really open. Smith also had a serious back injury last year and missed most of the season.

http://www.miltoncanadianchampion.com/sports/article/193411 consider him this years Hartigan http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=45123 he put up 122 point in the AHL the season before last

i doubt it... i'd bet Kenny's got a deal worked out with him, but he needs to wait to see the arbitration award. Chelios is a good team player. I;m sure he gets it.
-
yeah, and Franzen's giving a beating to Malkin there as well
-
lol... that would be funny as hell, but i imagine it would stir up one hell of a hornets nest
-
good to re-sign him, but i get the feeling he'll never play in the NHL
-
judging by the quote at the bottom of the article (talking about being in the Northern Conference), he's obviously expecting to spend the majority of his time in the AHL. it's a good depth move though. that grand rapids roster is very skilled, but VERY young. at least he won't have any issues getting lost when the play Anaheims farm team (you'll either get this bad joke or you wont)

http://www.dinamoriga.eu/ that seems to be their official site, so i'd guess thats official anyone who speaks Latvian can translate?

the ericsson deal ONLY affects the cap if he's on the roster. He's still got a year left of eligibility and he can be sent down. If he's in GR he WON'T count against the cap. the ONE WAY part of the deal simply means that he's on one wage, whether he's in GR or Detroit.

"they're honouring the numbers".. so their number wont actually be retired - they'll still be in circulation, same thing that the habs do... toronto obviously think that they have too many great players in their history to officially retire numbers..how wrong they are
-
just wait till he blows out his knee in his 1st game
-
good move... experienced guy with smarts

the problem i see it is that Wrigley REALLY isn't a good place. 41,000 seats. you gotta figure 20,000 of them are going to have a s***ty view. Especially the bleacher seats and lower tier. i'd much prefer to watch it on TV if i could.

98 no, i don;t think he was even on the team but in 97 he definitly played a lof of the time on Yzerman's wing... you can't read a huge amount into it though, as Bowman would constantly change lines looking for favourable matchups

sounds like wiki bulls*** to me
-
i hope you mean sick as in 'makes me want to vomit'
-
i bet he'll get it opening night

Nolan is a vetaran savvy guy and isn't much good with young players. L.A ONLY have young players.. Murray is a good choice, but fairly obvious if you look at the front office with Lombardi and Hextall there... they all were with the flyers in the late 90's early 00's. i think it'll be a long time before we see Nolan coach another NHL team, although he kinda got screwed out of both of his coach's jobs. It seems evident to me that he doesn't play the politics of the job at all well...

he should win it, as long as he doesn't get injured.. unfortunately the Phaneuf-Macguire bandwagon is rolling like crazy. How the f*** he got 2nd last year was beyond belief as he's quite a poor defenseman. he starts the season well, we hear a few 'MONSTER HITS' coming out of the ****** canoe's mouth and nothing will be able to stop him WHAMMO!

thread = EPIC FAIL how the hell did this thread get turned into the usual LGW enforcer bulls***? it's the last thing this thread should be about. the important things are resigning our RFA's (especially Filppula), signing or not signing Chelios and finding a new Assistant Coach and Video Coach.. Holland has ALREADY SAID that he's offered contracts to Downey and Mac, but they're 2 way, which is only right because they can't both be on the roster at the same time. The thread should't be about this...
-
think about it.. our home and homes are against 1 North East, 1 Atlantic and 1 South East. It obviously how they're arranging the home and home series. you know the NHL likes to screw with us, were you actually expecting things to turn out in our favour?
-
why? atlanta have a very weird habit of beating us all the frikkin time
-
bollocks.. it's because he's a pouty lazy goaltender, this has 0% to do with racism and 100% to do with his attitude
-
it was a compromise.. i see some fairness to it, since our home and homes are all from different divisions.. the Wings wanted an 84 game schedule with all home and homes but it's incredibly difficult to convince the travel shy eastern conference GM's to even go out of their time zone once a year

have to agree with norris nick here.. i think babcock will try 3 scoring lines with drapes as 4th line centre.. i'd hazard a guess at Hossa - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Zetterberg - Cleary Hudler - Filppula - Samuelsson Kopeky - Draper - Maltby the good thing about that is that all the Wingers are completely interchangable, and we have a physical shutdown line.. all 3 scoring lines have at least 2 very good defensive players then in a couple of years when Draper and Maltby retire you've got Helm and Abdelkader as their ready made replacements
