yes, it seems bad now, but how would we know that that pick would turn into mike green? and if we had the pick would we have chosen him? unlikely... if teams knew how good he would be he would have gone a lot higher than 29th (i think it was).. in terms of actual like for like worst trade, i still think Matthias for Bertuzzi was a bad move. i think Matthias would be a lot better than he currently is if he stayed in our system, and an injured Bertuzzi was no good for us at all really during that play off run...

just noticed how somilar these 2 teams are.. Games Played 54 Wins 37 / 34 Losses 14 /14 OTL 3 / 6 Thats where the 3 extra points come from...3 OTL's But looking deeper it's even weirder.. vs the East 6-1-0 vs 6-1-1 vs the ATL both 4-0 vs the NE 2-1 vs 2-1-1 vs the West Pacific 6-6-0 vs 8-6-0 NW 8-3-2 vs 8-4-3 Central 17-4-1 vs 12-3-2 Home - both 19-3-3 Away - 18-11-0 vs 15-11-3 looking at these stats we've won / lost pretty much the same with a couple of differences. The main difference seems to be that Nashville have played 5 more games against the central, which they've won.. so it's fair to say we've got an easier finishing schedule down the stretch. we can still win this division...the games against Nashivlle are going to be vital.

Ville Leino looks amazing btw, he's so strong on the boards
-
considering half the team grew up on international ice, i'm suprised how much difficulty we're having covering players in the slot that come in from the wing

Howards looking great on his angles

anyone read lips?

i sleep during the games... makes things a lot less stressful

it's game 1 on a Saturday night... you can;t compare it to a game 3,4,5,6 average... the AP report is crap
-
the rule specifically says the puck has to be on the ice

always weird when someone on another message board quotes something you wrote and then you read it, think "i agree", and then remember you wrote it in the first place... (i use a different username most places) i think ever since that guy came on to KK beginning of the season i've disagreed with just about everything he's said, but that column was the worst. He wrote one the next day saying that coaching doesn't matter.. he's a tool of the highest order. He uses statistics to forumlate opinions, without taking anything into any context at all... he wrote a column ages ago stating that the AHL regular season was between the Manitona Moose and the Hersey Bears, and it was obviousl to see that he just brifely glaced at the standings table. He completey failed to take into account that at the time Grand Rapids were 4 point behind with 4 games in hand, as were the Milwalkee Admirals. i wrote an email to Kukla a while ago asking him to get rid of the guy.. maybe after this latest tripe and when he's feeling better he will. i hope so.. it's a pretty dickhead move to insult Chris Osgood, Cam Ward and MA Fleury on a site which has major Carolina (Red and Black Hockey), Pittsburgh (The Confluence) and Wings (A2Y) blogs on it... he had to know he would get ripped apart. especially when his argument was assinie and ill conceived.. i'm glad the 19 ripped him a new one... -
i think Ericsson will stick with 52 to be honest.. those assigned Rookie numbers are usually in the 60's and 70's arn#t they?
-
nothing beats the literally thousands of trade Hudler threads that have popped up here, basically since he was drafted... they'll pop up as long as he's still in Detroit
-
on a2y they call him home keys, which i don't really get
-
that's why i appreciate being over here... if i'm nervous about a game, i just sleep though it... wasn't nice last night though.. woke up at 3am, checked the score, going to overtime....chances of getting back to sleep 0%... thank god it was a short overtime
-
the Hawks arn't like the Ducks at all, no one is.. you can't adapt a team to play like that on such short notice without changing the players, which you can't.. our problems against chi will be very different to the ones vs the ducks

Brendan Smith has been so unlucky with injuries at Wisconsin, it's difficult to see what he's really made of

that was all on Carcillo... wtf was he doing getting into a fight i'll never know, and then he did that lame celebration and fired up the Penguins. He's responsible for that comeback... terrible trade the Flyers made geting him, especially considering what they gave up for him. 3-0 up the opposition is looking for any kind of spark, and he gave it to them. utterly moronic and that article is no call for a dedicated enforcer, since Talbot is far from one. 34.7 ring any bells? he fights as often as Kopecky does, which is basically never.
-
that was a total makeup call
-
the days of a dedicated enforcer are over
