By reading this thread, 60% of the refs still doing games are bashed for one reason or another. So its not just Mick - either most all refs suck or its just a slow day in here and you all need summin to whine about.....

Not sure how many watched the game Saturday, but they were literally squeegeeing off puddles of water during intermission. Grapes was having (another) hissy fit - summin about getting some Kanadians down there to help Couple the fact that they're known for one of the worst surfaces in the NHL with the Mavs currently playing there also, and we could be in for a mess. 10 day forecast calls for around 80 with 50-60% humidity so its not gonna get any better. About the only reason not to play DAL that I can think of, besides that alien they currently have in goal - three playoff shutouts - where'd he come from?!?

Which begets the question about their entire infrastructure in DAL. Didn't the Wingz state they bring in xtra de-humidifiers for the playoffs? Just what do they do in DAL?

The pilot and co-pilot of Redbird I - kept our boys in the game with minimum turbulence. The question to them now is 'Do you know the way to SJ' **groan**

That '7th' placing at yearend is vastly overstated. All year we were in the teens, and for a good part the high teens at that. We musta had that 7th number padded by playing all those CHI and COL games at the end. Keep in mind (or dont) that last year our special teams were a combined FOUR last year - this year were a combined 28!!! TG were led 5 on 5. Our 'special' teams have been on the short bus all fookin year!

It's not the number of PPs necessiarly, but what you do with them. Having no SOGs during a 4 minute PP and only one for the entire game is why they lost. I do agree thet the CGY forechecking played a role, but experienced teams ahould learn to adjust during the course of a game - and even a series of shifts when the PP lasts 4 minutes. It's not my thread - I'm just adding my 2 cents same as you. I also agree with you that the PP was not an issue for us in the first 2 games - it was last nite. The stats just substaniate 'my light'.

Perhaps you should have been since that's what the topic is about And IMHO its exactly what cost them the game. One PP SOG the entire game? That's abysmal. More than one reason I guess - CGY was not standing still at all - constant movement and forechecking. You're given an advantage and you fail to capitalize on said. In comparison to the other team that took advantage of such, we lost. Its called passion. Posting a panic button is melodramtic.

OMG you watched the game right??? 'pretty even'? We were absolutly dominated last night on the PP! CGY converted at 33% - we had ONE PP SOG THE ENTIRE NIGHT (tho we did have 3 SH). Didn't count missed or blocked tho I'm sure there were some. If that's not domination, then I dont know what is. I'm not panicking, just stating the obvious - our PP was the absolute worse last night that its been all season, and its been pretty bad. Obviously not all games are won or lost by special teams, but last nights was.

HTG I could care less about the talking heads during a game (except Crisp - he is painful). I get all the feeds and watch CBC cuz hands down they have the best picture (I get artifacts on FSN at the top of the glass tho it could be my feed) and best production - they know how to do hockey. I was switching around last nite and dont know how many times FSN missed faceoffs cuz they were showing the bench or something else. And intermission? 2nd FSN gave Babs towards the end - MacLean had Stevie on for like 6 minutes or so - WINNER! And JR is trying his best on the TSN intermissions - so far hit and miss. Panger and Dragger always excel.

Musta had a nice gluten buzz going on - surprised he traveled all that way.....

With the possible exception of early tee times, the poster here is not far off. Our PP this year just sucked after being 1st last year and was only mitigated by the fact that we were the best 5 on 5. And lets look at that 4 min PP - forget for a minute the fact that we didnt score - FOR 4 FREAKING MINUTES WE DIDNT GET A SOG! AND CGY DID GET A SHOT! We also had 3 or 4 offside calls during that time. Its like these guys hadn't played on a PP b4! I'm not going to say (at this point) its going to be our demise, but if we cant take adavntage of these opportunities combined with the fact that GroinBoy has the potential to give up at least one softie a game, then every game is gonna be up for grabs no matter how well we may outplay the other.......

Hey c'mon. look at the bright side - he's now the 2nd slowest skater on the team - I lost it when he went offside when Bert was trying to gain the zone - slow and slower! Keep those two away from the salt lick!

He then brings up a shot of Dats standing upright to block a shot with one hand covering his face and the other his jewels (more or less). Grapes said he didn't know why he was covering up 'cuz there's nothing there to cover'! Classic. Course he also said our PP was great so he musta been into the Molson a tad early today.

Ur talking the 'skilled' players correct cuz I think Volchenkov led the leagues in BkS. Actually I saw it on CBC - didnt know he said this on NBC.

Well, 40% of our GWs last nite came from these 2 (tho another 30% came from Dats alone)....

No. What kinda drivel is that - 'didn't make enuf key saves....blah, blah, blah.' If the team cant 'rally' around a 29l lb piece of metal, then they're not much of a team. We were the better team last year - we just got outplayed. Manny didnt go 35-8 last year by himself - the team did. I'm not worried about GroinBoy making some great saves (he will), or giving up some softies (again, he will). Assuming he has got the diving outta his system, I'm more worried about him makling a bonehead play or HighAndWide turning it over at the blueline. We shall see.......

A 'few' years back, I would look at our team and see a bunch of Russians (epitimozied by Shanny coming out with a 'V' at the end of jersey name in the hopes Scotty would notice him - lol). But now, I really dont see it so much as a bunch of Swedes. Nor do I consciously think 'oh, he's a Euro'. Maybe its just cause they're so prevelent these days. Tho I 'see' Modonao and Cheli and Miller as Amerikans - maybe for the opposite reason - they're becoming fewer and fewer......

Free To Air. It's a set top box similar to an existing receiver. It can receive certain satellite signals. They cost around $150. From what I've read on the net, they hook up to your existing satellite and can be augmented with free software on the net to provide most channels on dish and bev. Most people get one to add to their existing setup to provide greater flexability in watching what they want, when they want.
