This is just poo. There is no guarantee last year wasn't an aberration - it was like his first winning season ever. Time will tell I guess but he's still unproven in my book, tho I imagine he'll enjoy facing < 30 shots a game! Sure were a boatload of backups out there all roughly w/n appox $200K. If he's the best backup out there then the NHL really sux. Really.

The Ducks did not repeat as champions, but the Stanley Cup is scheduled to return to Orange County today when Detroit Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood and team officials bring it to the Corona del Mar home of Augie and Lynne Nieto. Augie Nieto, who suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), interviewed Red Wings owner Mike Illitch recently for a book he is writing. Illitch told Nieto that if his team won the Cup, it would be brought to his home. Nieto was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and helped establish Augie's Quest, a Muscular Dystrophy Assn. research initiative focused on finding a cure for ALS.

'They have hockey there?' asks Lamo. Groan. He also asks Nick where he's from. Talks about number of Cups they've won, what it means, etc. Jay then asks 'So, did you two learn anything from JustinTime'? Nick lifts The Cup and I think he an OzGod stated in [somewhat] unison: 'Bring back (coulda been sexy or Stanley first time around).' 'Bring back Stanley' 'Bring back Stanley' Fin. Or as the Fair Maiden said 'Much Ado About a Minute' Oh, they did let a few people in jerserys up on stage with The Cup and Our Heroes. We didn't wear jerserys cuz it was 85 outside tho it turns out we were ushered right in thx to the LA Times beat writer here, the illustrious Helene Elliot who was kind enuf to get us VIP passes even tho I bashed her here during the year.
