Gads the NHL is so screwed up - I built my schedule off of this - all times say ET but they're closer to local time - I'm posting this at 12:30 PDT cuz they may change it eventually...... Screwed up schedule Even the NHL cant figure out how to tell time on the West coast.....

This is just beyond insane Biteman. I was gonna go off on a whole rant about alignment - how nobody in the east has to leave their own timezone (I know - they never do in the playoffs). But making us (and for that matter EVERYBODY in the west) fly at least 1,600 miles (SJ to NSH about 2000) is nucking futz w/o a day off in-between! What's the longest distance in the east - summin like 1000 miles for NJ and TAM??? I know we cant choose our opponents, but there should be a Central (again) to go along with the East and West to make it a tad more equitable. I know - 3 @ 10 teams doesnt align quite right at playoff time on numbers, but that can be addressed. Its just that NBC shouldn't dictate the schedule - it's not like they're paying money for the games or anything.....

Thank you. I do strive to make nice attempts - I feel I owe it to your myopia. Lets do some math (you ready?): Our GA is identical to last year. Our 5 on 5 GF% is identical to last year. Last year we avg 1.24 PPG a game - ranked 1st. This year we avg 0.86 PPG a game - currently ranked 17th where we've languished most of the season (this could be tempered by the number of .70 PP opps less than last year)/ Our GF is .50 less than last year. So to recap, we're scoring the same 5 on 5 this year as last, we're giving up the same amount as last year, we're scoring one -half goal less a game, and coincidentally we're scoring one-half goal less on the PP. So while you see a 'roaring' PP, I see a PP that has been our achilles heel all season long. You may interept such as a 'negative conclusion' - to me its just an observation......

Floppinator flops and lets in a goal. We lose. Stop trying to draw penalties. Just play the game. If we score we win. I didn't care for all the penalties in the last couple, but what can you do? Trying to draw something is stoopid and wrong. And if you do get lucky enuf to draw one, well with our PP sucking beyond bellief, perhaps we're at a disadvantage since we're the best in the league 5 on 5 based on GF%. And based on that stat, and hopefully the whistles get a break in the playoffs, we win on stats (like we almost always do).

Just saw an 8-10 minute interview with Steve Moore on the CBC news. I'm guessing its out there somewhere or perhaps they'll show it on the 'Saturday Night' pregame they do for HNIC. He looks well. Says most of the physical injuries have healed. Still has memory issues and cant workout for extended periods of time - um, I actually forgot why. Now I would never not root for a RW player - I do scream at Lagger (wifes new name for him) when he just becomes a pylon (sorry Lilja), and I do blow a gasket at the nightly Schneids turnover or two. But I want my team to win so I wish them no ill will (OK, I did say Schneids should die after Sundays game, but I didn't really mean it - well, not in the long term anyways). And I will root for Bert again under the guise I do so want my team to win. But I honestly can't look at him w/o something niggeling at the back of my cortext wondering 'how in the f*** could you do what you did'? I am passionate about this game like most of you, and this just bothers me to no end. For no apparent reason, I think of the story of Travis Roy - a kid who played ONE game of college hockey before becoming paralyzed for life in a freak injury sliding into the boards, and how he just felt so lucky and gratified to play that one game. I just cant understand the thought process that did (or did not - pick em) go through Bert's head. They also mentioned in the interview that ESPN was filiming the Avs for The Season and Moore was miked that night. The interviewer alleged and Moore kinda confirmed that they were gunning for him all night - not just the average game trash talk I guess. The NHL has those tapes - has anyone ever seen those floating around the net somewhere???

Yeah, I probably still would have but obviously in a different context. You all can argue about what is right or wrong till the cows come home - not many care what most of you have to say anyways ('et tu brute' most will say)..... For me, it's just a real juxtaposition when I have to hope that someone who I really dont care for as a person becuase of his previous actions can help my team. Never had to do that before. With time I probably coulda became a Friend of Floppa if necessitated - I just dont see me becoming a member of Bert's Boosters.

If you would actually read and not just get all of your info from youtube, perhaps you'd become a lil more informed - but dont worry - you have lots of comapny here. 'Criminal charges filed against Bertuzzi in Vancouver resulted in a guilty plea and a sentence of one year's probation plus 80 hours of community service.' So whether you concur with the Kanadian justice system or not, by their standards he did commit a crime and therefore IS a criminal. And dont just watch the hit - watch the overhead of Bert following him from one end to the other in the third period of an 8-2 game before the suckerpunch. I'm not going to argue the staple (cant quite use the word tradition) of fighting in hockey, but if he wanted to retailiate then get in his face in the first period and just drop the gloves. That's why I mentioned the fact that Moore was mic'd up for that game and I'd really like to hear the tapes if they're around - stuff like 'we're gonna get you' that was alluded to in the interview normally would be just trash talk but it seems like more than that based on the context of events that transpired. But thats not my point - my point was that watching him on the ice will always make me think of Moore - just as seeing Lemeuix conjurs about thoughts of Mac and Drapes - the diff being that I'll have to see Bert in every RW game (at some point). I wont root for him but I will root for my team.

You do want every feed on CI correct? You want TSN and every Rogers Sportsnet channel where they give hockey the coverage it deserves? You want to watch the Habs in French (well OK, not sure about that)? You want to listen to Panger during the (few that there are) PHX telecasts (which you must do - makes GlutenBoy sound even more pathetic)? You want to listen to Terry (the drunk) Crisp during NSH telecasts? You want Hockey Central every day? You want to stop whinning about what you cant get? Then what he said.

I believe it stems from the fact that if you disagree with certain people in here then they automatically state that you know less about hockey then they do. Does that satisfy your curiosity?

Somehow, anyone who aplogizes for 'sounding like a dick' sounds really insincere and really is a dick. You actually sound like a patronizing little girl who gets her hockey from the net. And I dont need to apolgize for that. Yep, I'm glad to see Williams go as I also want to see us improve immediately. I'm just not sure this will change much. Little more exicted by this than Cory Cross, but not by much. Looks to be a zero-sum gain on paper, but I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out on the ice. You may beleive you know a lot about the game of hockey, but you know so little about the game of life......

TSN Sources tell TSN the St. Louis Blues have agreed to a deal that sends Keith Tkachuk to the Atlanta Thrashers. Tkachuk, who has a no trade clause, is currently deciding whether or not to give the trade the green light. The deal is believed to include a variety of draft picks, including a first-round pick and a player off Atlanta's roster. Both teams are in a holding pattern while Tkachuk and his family decide. Good. Woodchuck would be such a libaility on our team - he has twice has many PIMs as our fearless learder Schnieds. Yeah, he can hit, but do we need ANOTHER slow, aging, past his prime player to get us deep into the finals? You just know he'll take stoopid penalties at the most unopportune time, and our PK is the worst its been in years. So hopefully he'll become someone else's chattel, and tee time will be in late April.
