When I knew it was going to be either Nashville or San Jose in round two believe it or not I wanted the Sharks. Obviously there's the payback factor from last year, but more importantly most of the time when the Wings get beat early in the playoffs what is that beats them? It's superior goaltending and a team that plays tight checking shutdown hockey when they get a lead. Anaheim with Giguere, Calgary with Kipper and Edmonton with Roloson are the ones that come to mind, all three goalies took their teams to the Finals and lost incedently. To me Rinne>Niemi and Nashville has a better shutdown gameplan than the Sharks and better quality defenseman. So that leaves the offense which obviously the Sharks have by a landslide, but at the end of the day a good offensive team doesn't scare me as much as a good goalie and a team that knows how to play good defense.

Yashin plus Dipietro equals Islanders suck. Wang is the worst owner arguabily in pro sports. Kovalchuk deal is right up there for me too, even though his second half is been much better, he's still way over paid. I thought Lemaire was a really shrewd GM until this move, now he just looks desperate to me.

I know everyone hates Leino on here and I do too. However, the style he plays is not the "Detroit style which is why he struggled here and he's excelled in Philly because they've let him play the way that suites him best. I'm more pissed at the team aka Babcock for not recognizing his skill set and letting him play to his strengths. We lost a guy that could have been a gamebreaker for us, like he's been for Philly because of it.

Living in Canada, we're constantly force fed Leafs news and games and for that reason I hope they fail so we can stop hearing about them sooner rather than later.

I would have been upset had Pasha gotten hurt, but the fact the Perry couldn't even beat him in a fight is hilarious, not to mention pathetic on his part. I would be ashamed if i was a Ducks fan.

Now that Pronger is in Philly I hate the Penguins more. My hate for Crybaby outweighs my hate for Perry/Getzlaf.

Oilers will be contenders within five years if they figure out their player personal problems. Hall and Eberle are gonna be great players, reminds me of a Crosby/Malkin or Toews/Kane duo. All they need now is to draft good young defenseman and goaltenders. As for Souray it's no small wonder they can't unload this guy, let's see he costs too much, now has a concusion history and GM's are starting to become wary of whiney arrogant players that put them in ackward situations such as this.

I don't know if you can call him a great player but the Panthers sure got screwed with Bertuzzi.

Considering the horible season he has had thus far you would have to think that Buffalo would try to deal him, especially if they fall out of the playoff race. I don't know how long his contract is, all it says on TSN is that in 2006 he signed a multi- year deal. I know a lot of people are going to think i'm crazy for suggesting this but he was just starting to come into his own offensively before this season. Maybe being on the same line with either Z or Pavel could re-ignite this kid?

Wouldn't that be awsome. Minny would most likely want way to much for him though. I know Kenny would never do it and it probably sounds nuts, but I would trade Hudler straight up for him any day. I just think Hudler is lazy and I don't see him ever performing like a Datsyuk or Zetterberg.

I like how Eaves played last year for sure and Miller did his job well too in my opinion, i'm just saying Kenny hasn't found a good enforcer type that can also contribute since Dmac.

Halak is an improvement over Mason, there's no doubting that, but will he be so good they win the central, highly unlikely. Depending on how Howard and Niemi's sophmore seasons go of course. If they both fall apart like Steve Mason did last year, then it's possible, but the chances of both of them having bad seasons and Mason being as bad as last year seems highly unlikely to me.

The way things are between Ozzy and Babs, it doesn't look good for him, at least not in motown. I hope he makes a strong comeback and the Wings have a solid one-two punch in goal again, but I don't think it's likely to happen.

3 goals and 33 points last year in the AHL doesn't scream ready for primetime to me, but at the same time he has paid his dues down there, so I say see how he does in camp and go from there. If he looks ready, give him a shot, if not send him back down. Of course that assuming he's still on a two way deal next year, i'm still fumming over lossing Quincey for nothing, who interestingly enough never put up more than 33 points in the minors either. Ericsson needs more time in the minors in my opinion, his defensive game still needs a lot of work and his offensive output doesn't come close to outweighing that fact. Unfortunetly he is also most likely on a one way deal.

I'm just glad crybaby hasn't done something like this, because that would really bug me or Ovie for that matter. Kovalchuk is good player but him not signing right away doesn't cause me to lose any sleep. I hope he ends up with the Islanders because I would like to see what him and Johnny T could do together.

If Adam Mair is still available in September I'd really like to see him in a Wings uniform, for cheap of course. Unfortunetly Holland seems to rather go after the Eaves and Millers of the world, who hit some and score more than Mair will, but they wont intimdate anyone.

I don't like the Rangers, but I hate Pronger as every Wings fan should. I'm definetly pulling for the Rangers, but they probably will be out in the first round anyway, unless they can find a way to get some consistent secondary scoring. Philly is probably screwed whether they make it or not, can't see anyone winning a 7 game series with Boucher as the starter.

The only goalie that they talked about in your post that's not a question mark is Kipper and he will not even be in the playoffs. Luongo has a lot to prove in the playoffs still, 2nd round meltdown doesn't scream reliable to me. Bryzgalov has excellent numbers in the postseason, but again he's never been past round 2. Him and Rinne scare me the most, both in my opinion are very underated because of the teams they play for. I just hope the teams in front of these guys are satisfied with just making it to the playoffs, like St.Louis was last year.

As long is it's not a three point game I don't care who wins.

What a great night for the Wings, Flames lose, Avs lose, Kings lose. The only thing that could have gone better would have been a regulation win over the Preds. Bloody 3 point games!

I live in BC and there's a lot of Flames fans where I live. They are the most arrogant fans that i know of. So no, i definetly don't feel sorry for them, in fact i'm happy as hell!
