Screw Directv. I switched to Dish Network today. My base package is exactly the same and $40 per month cheaper, +HBO, Showtime, and Starz.
-
The package I was quoted at included Versus. I live in Tampa so I would get the two Fox Sports Florida (Sun and FS); if I got Centre Ice, I would get Wings games on FSN. The package, non-HD (I don't have a HD TV, so why pay for the channels) had 250 channels and was $62.99 per month with 1 DVR, but a 12-month promo price of $47.99.

Ken Hitchcock wants to make the Wings "Bleed"
RedWingAbner replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I say, let Hitchcock chase the Wings. How long will that race last? 10 seconds? It'll be like Preston Lacy chasing wee man....funny, and ending with a fat ass lying on the ground gasping for breath. -
If an apple drops, how far from the tree does it fall? Seriously.....what a classy family. I mean, you can only blame the kid so much...."well, dad beat mom, so going after a goalie from another team is ok."

There should really be a test; the results of which would dictate who can post things and save us all some time. I'm no Ozzie lover, and I really don't feel like putting up much of an argument. Here are some topics as to why this post is worthless: Salary Cap Sucking, Underachieving goalies Legace sucking ass in playoff games Legace sucking ass when not being protected by the Wings

We lost 88 goals and get back 76 goals - Good Job Kenny!
RedWingAbner replied to Snazzy's topic in General
Listen pup. I didn't deny that Leino/Ericsson/et al wouldn't play more, I simply did not state it. The only one dodging the point is you, but it really doesn't matter to me. BTW, my reading comprehension-- the singular one-- is fine. I am simply stating that your formula doesn't quite work out and by randomly pulling figures and comparing them against actual stats, your post doesn't make much sense. That's all. No worries here; welcome to LGW. -

Yes, your first post was illogical. So was this one. You cannot definitively say that a player will score more when using statistical analysis. That's like saying, as a Bruins fan, Dmitri Kvartalnov's first game (4 goals) was indicative of how he would always perform. So, since we have not seen that 300+ goal season, you cannot state probability in definate terms. -

Hate to spoil the fun, but there is some fuzzy math there, friendo. You can't use actual stats on the players we lost, then utilize the wrong numbers for the players we gain. Worse, you are "adding" players that were already here. Bertuzzi had 15 goals. J. Williams= 19 P. Eaves= 6 So, in terms of players we gained, we are removing 88 goals and supplying 40. The other players you mentioned (Leino, Ericsson) had 5 and 1, respectively. So even using the "we are adding Leino and Ericsson" line, you still only have 46. You can't say there are 76 goals replacing 88 without flubbing statistics. -
Guys, The whole "American/Canadian" back and forth is silly. Kane is American. He did what he did. If he had been Canadian, it wouldn't have been any different. He would've had to ask the Queen for permission first, though.

What I meant was, maybe Raffi Torres could slam Jason Williams again. By signing Williams, the Wings take the target off of players who can actually (insert talent/contribution here) when they play CBJ.
-
Could this all be a ploy to bait Raffi Torres? If so, perhaps the goal is for him to keep away from players that actually contribute something other than frosted tips to a hockey team.
-
Are we completely sure that this deal is not for $2.50 for one season? That seems a bit more appropriate.
-
He's pretty popular in airport men's rooms.
-
The thing is, Shanahan signed with NJ for $800,000. That's not to say Sundin will do the same, I'm just saying, if the Wings are where he wants to be, and they lay it out for him that it will allow them flexibility, then maybe he considers. BTW, you wouldn't sign with the Wings for $900,000? I'd sign with the Wings if I had to pay them.
-
The thing with Sundin is-- yeah, he's not what he once was, but does that mean he couldn't contribute? Yeah, he put up 28 points in 41 games-- but that was with Vancouver. Quite possibly, on a team that doesn't base it's strategy on "let's hope Luongo only gives up 1, because trying for more than 2 goals is really hard," Sundin could put up 50 points. He started to come around in the playoffs, too. And let's not forget that in 1999, before the Wings acquired him, there was more than 1 story about Chris Chelios and how "the fire was gone." I think that on a team like the Wings, he'd pick it up. Assuming the Wings have about $1.8 mill in cap space, I wouldn't mind signing Sundin for a $900,000 contract with performance bonuses. Also, I'd say that he has to show up to camp-- no mid-season bs. I think the Wings will be better, forward wise, with Helm and Abdelkader getting regular minutes this year, and I think adding Sundin at a reasonable salary while still saving some cap space will allow the Wings to address needs later in the year.
-
You are saying that Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Draper, Helm, etc. played poorly? Hossa played like crap, and it's extra noticeable because he led the team in goals during the regular season. It'd be nice if he acted like he cared during the Finals.
-
Can we buy out Marian Hossa tonight? Put Abdelkader in there, at least he scores and tries. F**k you, Hossa. If the Wings win, there will be a part of me that is angry that Hossa gets to touch the Cup.
-
It was Jamie McLennan.
-
Is Chris Kunitz trying to beat out Matt Cooke for biggest ****** in the universe?
-
I know teams can petition to get names on the Cup; if the Wings win, can they petition for Hossa and Rafalski to be left off?
-
I think we need to realize the difference between "bandwagon" and "overly emotional." I am not a bandwagon fan (hell, I registered with LGW in the CuJo/Legace era), but I can be prone to angry, one-line statements. It'd be nice to have a player like 08 Marian Hossa. 09 Marian Hossa sucks ass.
-
God, can we please buy Rafalski out tonight? Between periods please?
-
Hey, I wonder if Hossa is going to spin around the net, back off to 25 feet, and fire a weak wrister soon.
-
We can get rid of $16M in worthless garbage by letting Hossa walk and finding a sucker for Rafalski and Kronwall.
-
Can I please have Brian Rafalski's job? Get paid $6M to let Nicklas Lidstrom make me look good. Do jack s**t otherwise.
