PRESALE CODE for Wings/DUCKS tickets at PONDA
RedWingAbner replied to VladyIBELIEVE16's topic in General
Good point. Perhaps you should write down the years of our 11 Cup Championships so you remember. It's much harder than just going, "oh yeah, that one year...um...2007!" -
The NHL seems to be really cracking down this playoff year, IMO. That being said, Chris Pronger would need to try to sever a guy's leg to get a.....oh wait. Well, I'm sure that if Pronger targeted a player who had just scored 2 goals against his team with a face slam into-the-glass elbow, he'd get at least 5. Oh, he got 1 game? You don't say. Needless to say-- Chris Pronger is an *******. Lauren Pronger is available for parties.

Osgood is not a lock. Draper will not be up there either. Guys, the number retiring is reserved for elite talents. Not fan favorites.

I might be mistaken, but I think that even if Lidstrom retired, his cap hit would count against the Wings because he was over 35 when he signed that contract. That being said, I think people are reading too much into NTCs. They are essentially an enticement-- a clause that says a player can choose where he plays. If the Wings approached Stuart and asked if he'd accept a trade to, oh, LA, who is to say he wouldn't take it? His contract is still guaranteed.

Well, I guess Penguins fans can rest assured that their idiocy is not the pinnacle of dumb: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=635175&page=23 My wife, who only started watching hockey this year, is from Chicago. I say this because she's a relatively casual observer of Red Wings hockey. When CBJ had 6 men on the ice, she said, "Too bad. That's an automatic penalty." Unfortunately, I guess 10 years isn't enough time to learn the rules of the game for Jackets fans.

It's official: CBJ fans are the dumbest in sports
RedWingAbner replied to RedWingAbner's topic in General
I'm not trying to run contrary to you, Mods. If we can't, as somewhat arrogant fans, say "tsk tsk" at other fans here....in the safety of the Red Wings meadow...then where can we? -

Shenanigans. There is no way you are a true Blue Jackets fan! Good on you, mate. Maybe you can hold a few "Hockey 101" classes for your buds in C-bus this summer. -

Again I say: Find any post, from the series GDTs by "Feicht." You would think.....YOU WOULD THINK (dramatic effect) that the Wings were raping paralyzed puppies in front of children. And that the refs were apparently supporting the puppy rape. And that the Jackets were the only ones who weren't participating in this blatant, league-mandated puppy raping. -

I am really shocked by their board. Even with O'Hallaran, when a call is cut-and-dry, the Wings fans seem to know wtf they are talking about. -
WCQF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 1

A sample: You forget who they're playing dude. These **** heads could rob a 4 year old at knife point and not get a penalty for it. -
WCQF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 1

If you want comedy, read the posts of "Feicht." It's been ongoing since Game 1. Apparently, the Wings are goons and nothing ever gets called on them, and that's why the Wings are winning. -

I've got CI through directv and it's on 770. -
Scoffing at Hasek winning nearly 40% of Vezinas awarded during his career is perhaps the dumbest thing I have ever seen on these boards. You are talking about a guy who did that during an era in which there were 24 teams.

Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link
RedWingAbner replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I am by no means an Ozzie kool-aider, but this guy is a complete moron. Speaking of weak links.....Is Rick Nash really an all-star? All I think when I see that guy is that quote that Tommy Lee Jones had in Cobb: "He moves pretty well for a fat man" -
You're walking a dangerous line, posting such "anti-Ozzie" material in this thread. Not to beat a dead horse, but I harken back to the Ranford analogy.....he also won 2 games to start a series, the 2nd being a shutout. Hopefully Osgood doesn't have a similiar experience.

WCQF GAME 2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 0
RedWingAbner replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I think this game is already a must-win for CBJ. It's gonna be a good test for the Wings because the Jackets are gonna play the trap or some variant. This is the kind of game that could be 2-1 or 5-1, depending on if the goalies are on top of their games. I really believe another big scoreline vs. Mason could hurt his confidence. My predictions: Wings 2, Blue Jackets 1 O.T. Blue Jackets score 1st (Nash); Wings get goals in 3rd by Helm and in OT by Hudler. -
Booster, I would love that to happen. Hopefully he doesn't hit a guy in the face in a roller game between now and then.

First off, I am glad that I won't have to see your drivel directed at my posts. Here's a few declarative sentences: Having an opinion is not imposing my view on you. If you cannot understand that everything is not black and white, you are not cognitively on par with a high school graduate. I hope Osgood does well. I think that players, based on thermodynamics and time, do get worse as their careers go on. (End of declaratives, for the most part.) We don't agree. I don't take it personally. I was a Hasek supporter who realized that he couldn't cut it anymore last playoff. Does that make me a Hasek-hater? Nope. Just a fan with an opinion. If/then statements (as far as I know) are not banned on this board. You blindly love Osgood. That's fine. When he has a good game, I expect you to be happy for him. I am too. Based on the fact that I don't simply watch to prove my point of view, I can admit when he has both good AND bad games, rather than waiting for a good game and then getting pissed because other fans aren't bending to YOUR point of view. I can't leave well enough alone? I make little jokes about Ozzy, per my right, and you freak out. I give him credit, and it's not the way you like, and you freak out.....and I'm forcing my self-centered (which doesn't make any sense, btw) view on everyone. It's your ego that won't let you admit that on many nights, he sucked this year. I simply pointed this out. I really don't want to be right regarding my fears that our goaltending will cost us, and if Osgood does crap the bed, I really won't feel like saying "I told you so." I don't get any prize for it. I am simply expressing an opinion, one that many fans have.

The Joe Louis Parking garage is located in Northville, Michigan. Take 275 N and get off at 7 Mile. The signs will take you to it. It's $75 to park there, and you can hop on the metro to take you to the Joe. There is no such place as Greektown, and thus, no casino there. In fact, the area that you are being told to go to is actually a crack house. You'll probably get robbed. Best keep away from there. The doors open at 9 P.M. for Game 2, which is Monday night. Start time for the game is 11 P.M. due to scheduling conflicts. Please don't take this seriously.
-
Well, agree to disagree. I think that you can be a fan and not have to blindly love a guy just because he's on your team and did well before. I appreciate what Osgood did, but this isn't grade school, his profession puts him in the spotlight and fans have a right to be critical, regardless of the fact that some fans think that this is blasphemous.
-
Jesus. Do you read the entire post, or just mine? I am objectively saying that he had a good game, but it is still one game. Osgood has had a great career....as did Bill Ranford....and playing well in one playoff game doesn't mean he's back to top form. Again, I point out, I was not bashing him, simply stating that it's a bit early to nominate him for the Conn Smythe. I'm sure if Osgood knew your true feelings, his wife would be uncomfortable. Give it a rest.
-
Translation: I'll continually support Osgood, even though he crapped the bed all season, and refuse to admit that there is any reason to be concerned about goaltending. Yes, when he plays like crap, I think that it's fair to say. Tonight he was fine. But it was, again, one game.
-
If Ranford could do it twice, Osgood can do it. I'm not bashing Osgood, but again, it's just one game.
-
Congrats to Osgood on a great game, but people, get a grip. It's one game. I'm not gonna bash Osgood, but get a grip. One game.

Yes, they've been so awesome, with all those Cups. Do you realize the Red Wings have won more Cups in the last 11 years than the Hawks have since 1926? But kudos to you for supporting the least successful original six franchise. Most teams could trip over themselves and win a few with a one-in-six chance. But 3 Cups and you still love them. God bless you, little fella.
