$10 says the Wings get something near 7 powerplays, including 1 extended 5-on-3, to the Sharks 3 powerplays, which are only called after blatant infractions. f*** the NHL.

As a former ref and current player, here's an easy way to tell dive vs. actual fall. A dive will usually see both legs off the ice at the same time, save for the REALLY good divers. Most guys don't like to hit one knee/leg solely on the ice with full force, so they push off to avoid hurting themselves. Not universal, but helpful.

Really? Just 2? So, when Filppula was standing near a falling Dan Boyle....that wasn't a phantom penalty? When Dan Cleary hits the blade of a stick and it breaks, that's not a phantom penalty? (And yes, I know it's basically automatic when a slash hits the shaft and break it, but Jesus....guys better be careful not to go stick on blade if that's the case). Bertuzzi call=horses***. 3 calls that changed the face of that game.

Can someone please take the "Death to Smoochy" movie posters and turn it into "Death to Setoguchi"? You can even leave the film's tagline-- "Get ready for an unexpected hit"-- on it. BTW, I don't want Setoguchi to actually die.

So, I believe the Canadiens owe Mike Green a thank you. Stupid play #1: Cross-checking Markov so blatantly when your rush failed that you get a penalty. Canadiens score. 1-0. Stupid play #2: What the hell was he doing on that second goal? Did he overskate the puck or just try to start a rush (kidding) and then turn it over? Either way, Dominic Moore scores. 2-0. Mike Green did not impress last evening.

Can we stop with Mike Green please? It'd be akin to playing with 4 forwards, the 4th being listed as a defenseman. Yep, his point totals ARE going to be decent. But he's not a good defenseman. I am surprised that we aren't seeing guys just decide they stand a better chance of getting an award bonus by not playing forward and switching back to defense. Next year, Ovechkin is the #1 defenseman on Washington.
