Still the Wings' most exciting game of the playoffs.
-
2? I want overtime.
-
If I was just a casual sports fan watching this game, I would've turned it off after that push on Hudler...and never watched again.
-
He's actually been praising Holmstrom lately. But he had to say that Holmstrom "plays just like a Canadian." I thought that was funny.
-
They all suck. Brett Hull was the best hockey analyst ever. Seriously.
-
If the Wings lose, it'll be their own fault, you can't blame the refs. Yeah, they cost us Game 4, and I agree that we probably would've won if that goal counted. But calls like that are expected in the playoffs, and that's why a series is 7 games. After that game, the Wings have 3 more chances to close out the series. If they can't do that, they ARE epic failures.

Game 7 is not the time to light a fire under them by taking out one of their best players. If the Red Wings really need something like that to get them charged up for the deciding game, they shouldn't even be in the playoffs.

Apparently Babcock's solution to our problems is Datsyuk with Draper and Drake.
-
Hey, Chicago put Williams on the point. Remember how much he sucked at that position here?
-
That Samuelsson line was awful today. Every time they were on the ice, they got stuck in their own zone for over a minute.
-
Hey, wait for the game to end. Maybe he'll hand it right back to us.
-
Dang. Not only was his foot in the crease, the puck went off his foot. What the hell?
-
With a performance like this, Datsyuk is gonna want a big raise...in 6 years

I think Dallas will definitely play the trap, or something like it. Otherwise, they don't stand a chance. I remember in the last regular season game against us, they defended really well and beat us 1-0. That's pretty much what I expect them to do, and I'm surprised they didn't do it in Game 1.

For me, this has definitely been the most boring playoffs since I started watching in 2002. Other than Game 5 against Nashville, there haven't really been any exciting, dramatic games for the Wings like last year. No comebacks from 2 or 3 goal deficits, the officiating is actually working in our favor, and everything is just going our way. But I guess I can't complain since we're winning... The other series have been really exciting, though. I thought almost every match-up in the 1st round was really good hockey, better than the last few years.

Well, I disagree with the part where he claims the Wings don't have any flaws.. That's just hilarious.

I may be wrong, but I really think the importance of line matching is exaggerated. When we start trying to match other teams' lines, players start having their shifts cut down to 5 seconds, noone can get into the flow of the game, and they can't really develop chemistry. Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Homer is arguably the best line in the league and even if you put your best shutdown line against them, they'll still make things happen. If we split them up, we get 2 good lines, both of which are easier to shut down. In the end, I think line matching disrupts the pace of the game more than anything. They should focus more on actual hockey strategy instead of forcing line changes every 20 seconds. And hey..if they focus on our top line, it means more chances for Franzen.

Colorado really needs to play a more defense-oriented game. They made it way too easy for our forwards to go to the net in the first 2 games, they didn't block our blue line shots, and they allowed us to bring the puck in easily. They definitely need to put more pressure on our defensemen because that's where a lot of our offense is generated. As sad as it is, they'll have to play more like Nashville did against us - keep us away from the net, block our shots, and make us dump the puck in. They can't match our puck possession style. For the Wings - they need to keep doing what they're doing. The power play needs work, but everything else is working well for them.

Maybe the NHL can ban on-ice sounds so that viewers can hear the announcers better.
-
Hasek. He gave Ozzie the chance to play.
-
I like how the other NBC guys pick on him a lot. Especially Mike Milbury.
-
I kinda wanted to see the Wings eliminate the Ducks..but I'll take this. Maybe next year.
-
Haha..I love Avery. Just as long as he doesn't play in Detroit.
-
Blocked our 70-foot shots, slowed us down in the neutral zone, didn't let Datsyuk and Zetterberg stickhandle into their zone (how many times did those two lose the puck trying to do that tonight?).

Holland won't get fired, but Babcock should be. We get outcoached in every playoff series.
