Is it just me, or does guy really hate the wings? Maybe just his job. Maybe he could be an aerobics instructor, you know, so he can wave his arms out in the no goal, format.... edit (sp)

Well in all fairness, I'm at work right now, and tha game is being recorded, so I don't know how it's going (haven't been in GDT so I don't see the score) Hope he's playing well!

I think Babcock's idea is to split up the line now so that he can TRY to get (find?) some chemistry out of the other lines, while the season is still early. He realizes that should the need arise, he can reunite ZDH at any time. This is the best time for him to tinker with line combinations, and get the players to mesh with other players. When you're in the p/o's, and your best line keeps getting shut down, it's nice to know there's another line combination that might produce points as well. What if (I hate the what if game, but...) there is another combination out there that will produce nearly as much? Like the one suggested above Sammy, Homer, Flip/Rex? With Cleary up with Z and D? Maybe something like that might work. This is the best time to find out, rather than in game 4 of the p/o's... Go wings! edit (spelling)

Wait! I thought Osgood read the message boards curing the game and passed on the suggestiond in GDT to Babcock. Isn't that how Babcock juggles his lines up?????

Wings win. No prediction. Boy did I like seeing Osgood between the pipes. Great GDT Aflac, as usual! Oh, and Lang is lazy and he sucks.....

I kind of doubt I would use that feature, but that's more b/c I rarely use the internet from my phone. Like someone posted earlier, it would be great for scores (and goal scorers) but that's about it for me.

I'm actually getting pretty excited for this season, now that Lang and Bert are gone. Not specifically b/c of anything against them, but I can't wait to see the younger kids getting more minutes, and hopefully getting to shine.

That's part of the problem with ranking different postions together in one list. It's too hard to gauge where everone should fall, everything being equal. Because all things are not equal between positions. It's too hard to place defense, forwards and goalies in the same list, because eventually you have to come to a decision as to what skill is valued more than another. For instance, what is a more important skill than the other? Putting a puck in the net, or preventing one from going in? They say championships are won on defense, but can you win a championship without scoring a goal? Ultimately all these lists are subjective. What one person deems to be the most valuable skill in a player, is different from another. These lists are opinion only. Whomever's opinion that is, it is still ONLY opinion. Unless the list is based on hard fact, like, who has the most points, or who has the most take-aways, or who has the most shot blocks, it will always be opinion-based. Edit: spelling

Wait. I thought the offer was 2.5 mil, and he wanted 3.5-4 mil. I thought the paper screwed up? In this market, Danny is worth more than 1.5, but I don't think he's worth 3.5 for sure. I would be ok with 2.5. That's fair.

Exactly. I think the wings fortunes will only improve yet. Especially with Flip and Rex getting a full year of NHL experience under their belt, they'll be much more ready for the year, and the p-o's. Keep in mind it Scotty didn't win the cup his first year in Detroit. I think Babcock is one of the best in the league right now, and holland will try to hang on to him for a while (hopefully).

While being a Canadian, but also a Wings fan, I have to say that I can't stand the announcers from Calgary and Edmonton either. That being said, I think the announcers from Toronto are usually not bad (and I hate Toronto). I think it just depends on what CBC you get.
