Don't know if this was the reason this time, but in the past they have said they like to wear the opposite colour at home, to let the home fans see them playing in their alternate jersey. This would be my guess... In regards to the game, I love the wings, but I am getting tired of seeing them squander a lead to only have to catch back up. Honsetly, I wish they would start losing most of those type of games, just so they wouls wake up a bit. With this type of win, they must be coming out of it with an attitude like, well we won the game, so we must have palyed pretty good. Instead they should be thinking what the hell did we do wrong to ALMOST lose the game AGAIN...

That was some great stick-handling. I don't remember that one. Was that last season? I saw the majority of games and it doesn't seem familiar...

Just announced a couple nights ago on TSN during a hockey game, the NHL will be ensuring there will be a separate lottery for Canadian fans to get tickets in. I don't have a link for news or the tickets, though. Not sure how they would run it, given it's in Chicago...

Nick Lidstrom really has not been useful in his career as a redwing. He really doesn't serve a purpose. Maybe someone would pick him up off the waiver. Paying half of his salary, and opening a roster spot for another defenseman is far more important. Lebda needs some of his icetime...

B/c the marlies aren't an NHL team. Yes, it may be pro hockey, but lets be honest people aren't nearly as interested in farm team hockey as they are in NHL hockey. People want to watch games with the big names in them, not the up and coming big names. Or in the case of the marlies, the up and coming not so big names...

Hamilton is within the territiory rights of Toronto, and possibly Buffalo, but most definately NOT Detroit. They would not have to pay the fees to the Wings. And if another team were to come to either Toronto, or Hamilton, either of those cities would be farther east than Detroit... I have a feeling that when this was being discussed, Hamilton may have been what they were talking about, even though the say Toronto, as it often gets lumped in with Toronto, ewven though it's an entire different city, just because it's so close, and Toronto is so big. Note: Hamilton is not a suburb, it has a population of just over 500,000. But with Toronto's population being in the millions, Hamilton gets lumped in with them a lot... Hamilton could very easily support an NHL team, no problem. Frankly I doubt they'd have any problem selling out on a regular basis. Southern Ontario is a hotbed of hockey, and frankly, the Leafs are a hard team to get tickets to, so I think a lot of people would be willing to go to Hamilton for tickets. Hamilton is approximately 1 hour from Toronto, which most people would travel for a game...

I'm not the biggest Lilja fan, but I have to say, he's been a solid player for a while now. I was impressed with the way he improved last year, and I have to say, I really don't have any problems anymore with the way he plays now. He's a #5 defenseman, and he plays his position well. He's great on the pk, blocks a ton of shots, and doesn't make a lot of big mistakes anymore. He doesn't playthe game like Lidstrom, but then no one really expects that, do they? I think he does well for what he is paid. That's why he was re-signed.

Yeah, they don't actually see all the money. The promoter gets the lion share of it, and actually are the ones who determine how much they will charge.

Nah, I just have a handful of sites I visit now and then to look for signings. Frozen Pond does a ton of these signings both private and in person, so it's one of the ones I check. They're frequently one of the places the hidden signings on signingshotline.com are done at. I've been waiting for Ozzie and Lidstrom to do one for a while. That's the main reason I look. That, and Yzerman... He hasn't done one in a couple years, though...

The four above mentioned players are doing an autograph session for 24 November, 2008. The store is Frozen Pond, in Toronto, however, as mentioned, it is a PRIVATE session, meaning you do not get to meet the players, or see them at the store. In fact, the store owners will likely travel to Detroit to get the autographs, with all the articles. These private sessions are often paid for by the store to go down there, and there are no public signings. However, that being said this is not always the case, and there may be a public signing. If that is the case, it would be likely the 25th, or 26th of November in Detroit. If anyone hears any information on that, please post it. Not everyone is able to get a free autograph. I live about 4-5 hours from Detroit, and while I don't mind going to Detroit for an autograph, if that's the sole reason I'm goin, I'd rather pay a little money to guarantee the player will be there to sign, than just go on the off chance I might get a signature. Unfortunately, some players command a very large sum of money for an autograph...

There used to be one on the old site, but it kind of went unused for the most part b/c the wings don't usually do a lot of public signings (not much to put in the thread.) They do a hand full through the year, and that's it.

I've bumped a couple of the threads I made a while ago, so everyone can see them again. They include the Dats, Z Lidstrom, Osgood, Mule one, which is a private signing, as well as the Larionov one.
