    Giving up too many goals

I'm actually a little curious what is going on with the team. The defence in particular. They've looked less than great. I know a year older etc, but Listrom himself hasn't really impressed me like his normal self so far. I don't want to say he's been out of position a lot, but he hasn't been ahead of the other teams forwards like he has in the past. Just curious, does anyone think the addition of a visor has anything to do with his play at all, or am I just looking for excuses? Note: like someone above mentioned, it's nice when your team is playing poorly, and they are 3-1-1! :!:

    Giving up too many goals

Fair enough. I gotta say, though I'm kind of glad he's no hasek. Hasek played well enough last season, but I always felt nervous last season when he played, unlike Ozzie. Ozzie plays a boring (most nights) game, making saves while being in position. Hasek makes a lot of spectacular saves, but the majority of them come as a result of his knack for wandering from the net due to boredom, and then getting out of position, and having to dive back to make a save. I felt like I was always thinking "oh God, what's he going to do now" when he was playing. The snow angels he had a habit of doing didn't help me feel any better.

    Giving up too many goals

My point was simply that the whole team looks like it has a hangover. It's not that the individual players are incapable of playing their fair share, or doing their job, just that everyone played like they were out late the alst few games, and that Ozzie is no exception, but that this is not indicative of his normal play... But yes, too many goals, ultimately...

    Giving up too many goals

Then care to elaborate on how Osgood doesn't have it in him to be a full time starter? Is it because of his 3 whole games he's played when the defence has looked horrible (relative to the wings' standards) or the steller performance of last season, or the past seasons he's had as a starter? Osgood is fine as a starter, and will settle down with the rest of the team, as they do.

Yeah, I think he must be tired after playing in 3 games already...

Deja Vu? Balsillie buying Preds: Report

Yeah, but it sucks when the cops come to you a month later, and seize the $1000. the buyer gave you for the car b/c it was stolen... In hindsight, waiting for the $1500 would seem like the better idea.

It was. You are correct. It was a no movement clause. He isn't going anywhere this season.

    Marian Hossa a Red Wing, 1yr, $7.45m

Really? Not that I'm discounting Hossa's value at all, but what about Rafalski? The multi-year deal was a pretty significant signing for Holland and co. Especially after Schneider bailed on the Wings. Just a thought, given that it's a one year contract, with it being unlikely he will return. Can't freaking believe he'll be wearing the winged wheel...!!!

    Wow, Pittsburghers are really ticked

Agreed. He signed here for 1 year. He owes us nothing mre than 1 season's worth of hard play, and determination to win a cup next year. He took a large pay cut to come here and took less than our Captain (albeit not much) to show he knows his real place on this team. To me that's showing he's trying to be a team player for us. If he goes somewhere else next year so be it, thanks for coming out. If he were to re-sign, then great.

    Stuart Re-Signs: 4-years @ $3.75m per

True, but in the playoffs, there wasn't a concern about losing a player b/c they were sent down to the minors. You can have as many players on the roster as you want. The Wings were able to carry Meech, Quincy, AND Ericsson. I think they would rather have Ericsson on the wings overall, but not at the possible expense of losing both of the other two when they try to get them past waivers to GR. The only other option would be to trade them. I think they want to hang on to them. Frankly I see Ericsson going back to GR (save for a couple games maybe for injuries) and Meech being the 8th d-man (as per Holland saying he would carry 8 d-men), and Quincy being sent down to GR, facing the waivers, and being snatched up, or the more likely option of Holland trying to trade him. Unless Holland comes up with a trade involving both Quincy AND Meech, Ericsson will be going back to GR.

Smart move by CTV/TSN. Incredibly stupid move by the Canadian Bonehead Corporation...
