NOOO!!!! Even though I don't live in the area, I listened to the podcasts every day for Stoney and Wojo. Sure, they didn't talk about the Wings every day, but they were entertaining. I thought it was also interesting to hear some personal perspective on the Kilpatrick mayor scandals, something we didn't hear much about here in Cincy. There were also cuts here in Cincy but I am not sure what has been affected. This is a sad day for radio.

Definitely noticed. He made it sound like Chicago scored because they were outplaying Detroit when Detroit was facing the wind. Yet when Detroit scored, it was because of the wind. He consistently has inconsistent comments that show his bias against Detroit.

That's pretty blatant. At least the Red Wing Shoes logo is different looking, but they have been around a lot longer, too.

I CANNOT STAND these camera angles on the Ducks broadcast. It is too difficult to see the plays develop and it actually makes the game look like it is slower.

Sweet! I wonder if the players ever hear the things Ken and Mickey say. Like I wonder if hearing Mickey say Franzen should be scoring x goals if that helps to boost Franzen's confidence. Because it sure seemed like Mickey said "do this" and Franzen did it!

I remember when Mickey said that! Gotta love Mickey's analysis, he is spot on, one of the best. Franzen is a beast!!!

Very sad indeed. I wonder if this will have an effect on players choosing to play in the KHL as it seems the NHL is far ahead in emergency response. Interesting times we have right now with the discussions about the NHL vs the KHL.

I have been enjoying "King of Russia" by Dave King and Eric Duhatschek. King has coached several NHL teams and the book describes his experiences coaching in the Russian Super League. FTA: "The Red Wings' Swedish players will meet tomorrow with Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf, who is on two-day tour of Michigan to celebrate the opening of a Flint-Swedish joint project that will turn human waste into fuel for power and vehicles." Trying to leave politics out of this, but that is cool of the King to come all this way to show support for this. What will be more interesting is to hear how this project pans out. I have to admire the way other countries show progressive attitudes and it seems I hear a lot about Sweden being a great country. I also really like their right of the people to use the land, so hiking, fishing, boating, etc are all freely permitted.

Looked clean to me, just bad timing for both players. Carle seemed to turn left just as Kopecky got near, and it looked like Carle was going over top of Kopecky with his stick. Unfortunate but didn't see the elbows up like a Chris Pronger hit, hopefully Carle is ok.

Oh well it was only preseason and it sounds like Lids is going to be ok. While I wanted the Wings to win, it was nice to see that my former Cincinnati Cyclones played well tonight (Cedrick Desjardins, Thomas Beauregard, Greg Stewart and I think there was one other as well). Also, on the other Canadiens preseason squad is former Cyclone David Desharnais who lead the ECHL in goals last year. He was a thrill to watch last season and has a good chance with the Canadiens as do all of these guys, so I wish them the best. FWIW: The Cyclones won the Kelly Cup last season the day after the Wings won The Cup. It was incredible to have back-to-back cup celebrations between the Wings and the Cyclones!
