Zetterberg did an interview with Bob Erry about the Conn Smythe and Bob asked about fans in Sweden. Henrik said something to the effect of he's "sure they're partying" but then spoke a couple of sentences in Swedish. Did anyone catch that and know what he said?

That was my feeling as well. I think Drake will retire. He played well during the playoffs and I was glad he was part of the team. But I think he will want to be part of his family more now. He has a big heart and I'll always remember that. Dom needs to hang 'em up. Cheli still has gas in the tank and I will be glad to see him back, but would understand if he decides to go out as a champion.

The NHL shop online has big and tall sizes on the shirts. It's a separate item from the standard shirt so you may have to look hard for it.

This was everything we hoped (and knew) it would be. I am disappointed with the actions of the Pens fans at Mellon arena - booing Zetterberg, the cup, and leaving early. That's a Stanley Cup Finals presentation / award ceremony, and many of us would give up body parts to get the chance to go, regardless of team. But.... that's all I am going to say because THE WINGS WON THE CUP!!!!

Tonight has been in the making for over one year ago when the Ducks eliminated the Wings. One of the players (I can't remember if it was Lidstrom or Zetterberg) said yesterday in a press conference that it was their goal at training camp this year to get back to where they were last playoffs and they have far exceeded that goal. It's something we have waited all year for, watching every game, reading all the press articles, and tonight it will come to fruition! Bring home the hardware!!!! yes, i'm stoked!

What they fail to mention while stroking off Crosby is that last night was the first time in the series that he was an effective player. The other thing that is killing me right now about the media is that Detroit is portrayed as the bad guy with the "stifling, suffocating defense that sucks the joy out of the game." Since when is having a skilled, talented, and excellent team a bad thing? I don't think the media will be satisfied with the finals unless Crosby wins, otherwise, Detroit remains to be portrayed as the big bad killers of hockey. Total bulls***.

I was waiting for this thread, also thought about maybe starting it myself. I admit, I was disappointed at the trade deadline when we didn't make a big deal. But after a day or two it became clear that Holland and the Wings were not willing to "sell the farm" and trade away young talent like Flip and Huds. Bottom line is this: Holland didn't give up the future for the present, he didn't disrupt the chemistry of the team, and he strengthened the defensive core of a team that is built around defense. Those seem like smart moves to me.

Are you sure that's not just from wear and tear? I have worn out the palms of my gloves and I would imagine an NHL player would wear them out much more frequently. Any case, I'd be interested in seeing the pictures of the gloves.
