Yep, it was blatant, IMO. Tootoo got up, held Draper down, took a step on the ice, then stepped on Draper's back. Tootoo could have just as easily stepped around Draper, but he chose to step on him instead.

Two thoughts so far: 1. I have not bashed Hasek all year, but I feel it is hist time to sit now. Put Ozzie in and turn the goal tending around! He needs to be attentive off the faceoff and he has given up at least two goals off the faceoff in this series now. 2. The stomp by Tootoo on Draper's back was horrible and the damn refs should have called that! Suspension worthy for Chris Simon and Chris Pronger, why not for Tootoo????

I think that shows it all right there. As for the elbow, it was uncalled for. I remember Mickey saying a few months ago that Kronwall probably wouldn't get injured as much if he stopped going for the big hit all the time. This is definitely one of those situations and I have to agree with Mickey.

Booster313, what if you just rip the DVD you're making from the VHS into a .divx and post it on bittorrent or have your friend help with that? Then you wouldn't have to mail dvds to people and all of us could see it.

Since I live 1 hr from Columbus, my wife and I are going to the Wings @ Jackets game on Sunday, March 16. I have seen a lot of recent threads by people who have met some of the Wings before the game and am wondering how I might be able to do the same in Columbus. Does anybody know how to do this in Columbus?

WTF does this have to do with the horrible call? Nobody is debating how much of a fan we are over this call. Spending more on the team doesn't make somebody "more of a fan".

This was utter bulls***. With this goal, and the Dan O'Hallaran "no goal" a few weeks ago against the Ducks, it is painfully clear that something needs to be done about the NHLs review policy. I believe incidents like this should be reviewable and the calls should be able to be rescinded. If they can take away Lidstrom's goal because Giggy makes initiates incidental contact with Holmstrom, then they should be able to take away mistakes like this. And WTF was the ref behind the line doing? Did he not put his whistle to his mouth, then remove it? Isn't it his JOB to watch the damn puck? If it goes upward, FOLLOW THE DAMN PUCK!

Dude! I can agree with the injury factor. 2 weeks ago I was playing in my beer league and I tripped on my skate right off the faceoff. I landed full force onto my stick with my chest and I'm a big guy, so it hurt a bit. It was the last 30 seconds of the game and we were up 5-1. The faceoff was in our zone and the other team was pressuring us, so I got up, stole the puck, and scored the empty netter! Later that night I went to the ER to get x-rays because I was afraid I broke a rib, but I only bruised a few of them. It still hurts like hell, but it is not the first time it has happened to me. Then this week, I got flu, got over that, then broke a wisdom tooth and have to have it removed on Thursday! Freakin' crazy! I did manage to score another goal this Saturday, even with my lidocain patches on!

Let's be real here, there is no alternative to ESPN's ability to direct attention. To say the NHL doesn't need ESPN is bulls***. Versus, while it is claimed to be a nationally available channel, has nowhere near the capability ESPN has. Many fans don't even get Versus because their cable provider has not picked up the channel! (That's my situation.) Here is an example: yesterday several of my friends who do not care one bit about hockey all talked to me about Zednik. I am sure they saw it on Sportscenter. I completely avoid ESPN since they are so anti-hockey, but for several individuals to know about Zednik's accident I was pretty happy hockey got some coverage. Most people forget hockey even exists, so when it is on a channel like ESPN where it has the ability to draw in a large interest nationwide, it is clear that hockey needs ESPN to give better coverage.

Yeah I could imagine that, too! I also saw the ping-pong table in the background and wondered who would come over to play ping-pong. I wound up watching it all, even though I didn't understand it, but it is easy to see what is going on based on their body language. Although WTF was with the two guys messing with eachother's pants crotch? Anyway, my wife watched it, too, and she noticed several more things: a pile of hockey sticks hanging in the garage and their actual house number and street name on the front door.

Impressive comeback by the Wings tonight. Like Mickey said, you gotta wonder who is holding their breath thinking "how are the Wings going to come back and steal this again?"
