Red Wings GM Ken Holland hasn't given up on wandering Jiri Hudler
Mors replied to a topic in General
I'd much rather see this money spent on a free agent who isn't the size of a peewee player. -
Really bizarre and ugly hit, doesn't surprise me coming from Downie though.
-
Wow that sucks for Chicago (yea I don't care, f*** the Blackhawks)
-
Not surprised, but definitely disappointed. Cooke is trash.
-
Yea could be, in either case the other two reductions I agree with

Read the original post I was responding to way back before you jumped in. It was implied that Bertuzzi should take a pay cut from his current salary. I disagree.
-
? If he's making $1.5 million now, a paycut would imply he's going to take less money than he's currently making. Otherwise, it would just be an extended contract for the same amount. My point was, $1.5 million for Bert is a fair amount, and I don't think he would or should be expected to take a smaller contract. Edit: Especially to make room for Hudler (I'm not on that bandwagon, he's tiny and clearly has no allegiance to this team)
-
He's going to take LESS than $1.5 million? He's already on the low end of the spectrum for his performance, I wouldn't ask or expect him to take less than that.
-
Why would Bertuzzi take a pay cut at $1.5 million to make room for Hudler at $2.8 million? Not going to happen.
-
What are you smoking? 100% elbow on that one after an approach from behind, very classy.
-
The ref ******* stands there while Versteeg is throwing bombs into the crowd? WTF?
-
They have to overcome a challenge like this just to prove that they can actually succeed in the playoffs anyway, getting in is only half the battle, doesn't do any good if they make it and get knocked out in the first round because of half-ass play.
-
I guess Babcock figures it will inspire a better work ethic if he's demoted to the 3rd line, unfortunately the best I saw Bertuzzi play last night was when there were a few incomplete line changes and he ended up on the ice with Datsyuk again. I'd rather see Bertuzzi on a line with Dats and Franzen consistently but it won't happen. In the long run it's hard to complain about a guy who has still managed to stay in the top 5 scoring for $1.5 million, and he hasn't missed a game all season (I think?)
-
As soon as Bertuzzi got some chemistry going with Datsyuk he was moved off his line...seems kinda obvious.
-
Hopefully Rafalski can play like this for us sometime...he looks like a totally different player in this tournament.
-
Roenick needs to take a shower if he wants to be on national TV covering these events...he looked like a greasy homeless guy they picked up outside the studio to come in and argue with Milbury.
-
Justifying dumping an offensive player (Williams) on a team struggling for offense to make room for a 6th defensemen who hasn't played an NHL game in 12 months is something...if not desperate
-
Since when did Lilja become team hero? He was the biggest pylon on the team and garnered CONSTANT complaints in the past seasons, now he's a ray of hope for the defense? Desperate times around here.
-
I'd rather they waived or traded Lilja before dumping 2-3 other players to make room for him given that he's proven nothing and could very well come back and play horribly and then we'll really be f***ed.
-
Even if this team made the playoffs, they would just go up 3 games and then lose the next 4 straight....<CHOKE>
-
Possibly the greatest sports intro I've ever seen (hopefully not a repost):
-
As soon as they separated Bert from Datsyuk the top line started looking weak...
