Keep in mind that Hossa has already made over $40 million in his career, he's not hurting for money. If stability and professionalism are what he's looking for, then Detroit may be the place for him even if it means taking less money. We'll just have to see what happens in the coming weeks...
-
Hossa is better than Filppula, sorry but that's reality. If he could be legitimately signed for $4 mil cap hit then it's insane not to take him.
-
So...Carcillo didn't get suspended for the same penalty? strange, thought that's exactly what happened. No chemical free mind would openly accept a professional sports league that will not enforce rules against "star" players. That doesn't mean Bettman handed the Pens the cup, but rescinding the penalty was cheesy at best.
-
No reason for Ilitch to care, he was around before Bettman, and at the rate Bettman is going Ilitch will probably out last him as well.
-
This sums it up for me as well. And he was a pylon

Any solution to the cap issue that involves resigning Kopecky for an even longer term is no solution at all. Haven't the GR kids proven that Kopecky is worse than all of them? Helm > Leino > Abdelkader > Kopecky.

I like Hudler, but he's tiny and not strong on the puck...he was manhandled for the majority of this playoff run. I'm willing to let him go to get the Hossa deal done.
-
Here's hoping that Hossa is still a Wing next season, he's the least of our problems right now.

We look like sore losers for complaining about something disrespectful that the league's precious posterchild did? It's not a conspiracy, it's a fact that this indeed occurred. “Nick was waiting and waiting, and Crosby didn’t come over to shake his hand,†Draper told an Associated Press reporter a couple hours later as he was leaving Joe Louis Arena. “That’s ridiculous, especially as their captain, and make sure you write that I said that!â€

My feeling was that it was bulls***, and clearly indicative of the completely unprofessional officiating that plagues all teams in the NHL. If it weren't for my loyalty to the Red Wings, I would probably stop supporting the NHL altogether (not because of this specific instance or the loss, but because of the direction Bettman has been taking the NHL in for years).

Fail.

OMG a rental player left our team what a traitor! I think you've run this point into the ground, and it's clear that no one agrees. Can we stop with this please? Back on-topic, Hossa looked lethargic yesterday, but so did most of the team. He's still made some great plays here and there, and he's certainly not to blame for the loss. He's not the scapegoat people are making him out to be...

VICTORY.

Refs are a joke...when McGuire is openly talking about blatant interference calls not being made against the Penguins you know it's a bad sign.
-
Hitchcock, Carlyle and Quenneville all bitched to the media about one thing or another (Quenneville really lost it). So far Bylsma is showing more dignity and class then all of them I think.

It's been a good decade for Wings' fans to say the least.

When Pavel Met Evgeni--The turning point of the series
Mors replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
Agreed, I was pissed at the early power play for the Pens but the Wings killed it off and it definitely gave them a boost. The crowd was cheering them on pretty loud for the Joe too considering it was a PK. -
Agreed about Cooke. Staal seems like an understated player who gets a bad rap sometimes for his inconsistency. I think his quiet nature makes it easier to like him since I've gotten used to most of the Wings' players being generally quiet and humble.
-
If the Pens lose their discipline in the same way they did on Saturday, then there's no reason for me not to be confident. If I were Byslma I would start by reminding the guys that.

Why do you insist on bringing up this ridiculous dive over and over and over again? -
Honestly, BewareThePenguin has given me a bad impression from some of his posts, Flintstone hasn't done any trolling that I'm aware of. I apologize for derailing the thread.
-
Even though I think Osgood deserves it considering the amount of flack he was taking before the playoffs started, I suspect that Malkin is going to get it one way or another. If it comes down to the Conn Smythe or the Cup, I'm sure any member of the Wings' would be happy to give up it up for the Cup.
-
Yes, your words are very tough on the internet. I will greatly enjoy the unfathomable sadness coming out of your arena tonight when Hossa is skating around with cup in it. I'll leave you to your thread, enjoy the game.

Nope, don't care. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people interested in discussing the Penguins issues on the Penguins forum. I've had enough of the veiled attempts at fellating the Penguins on this board in the spirit of "discussing opposing views" (not necessarily initiated by you in most cases).

Penguins' fans sure do love posting these "here are my thoughts" threads on a daily basis. Is the Pens board so desolate or is it just filled with bandwagon Steelers fans who found out there's also a hockey team in Pittsburgh?
