Good thing Kopecky is a "2nd line power forward" now who will strike fear in the hearts of all the San Jose, Calgary, Vancouver, Chicago, and Columbus goons we'll surely encounter come playoff time. I guess we can rest easy "standing pat" by not replicating aspects of the game that made this team successful last season.

As I said earlier in the thread, Semin's goal was his 100th career goal...you should expect some celebrations for that. The other goal celebration was just dumb.

I'm happy for his sudden surge in production...but don't get it twisted, he's gonna have to keep up his progress before I admit any error in my previous statements about him.

Why the f*** would we want Roberts? he's like 100 years old...Neil on the other hand, as stated, would be a benefit to the team play-wise, and a benefit to the team if it means preventing the Sharks from getting him.

I figured if Downey had a shot at a full time roster position, it would have been this season after taking care of business for most of last year. Unless there is a big shift in personnel I don't see them showing him any love next season either...

When has Downey ever taken a "dips***" penalty while playing for the Wings? that specifically was one of the things he DIDNT do which made him an asset last season. He picks his battles and doesn't take stupid penalties...

He put his elbow up 5 seconds in advance of the hit...not much can be said to really come his defense. I do agree though, not much sympathy for any Flames players here.

Leino - Draper - Maltby last night was the best 4th line effort of the season...it might be "fair" to keep rotating in Kopecky, but it's really not in the best interests of the team.

McCarty won't be able to break back into the Wings' lineup with Helm and Leino putting up the efforts they have so far...I still love the man but this is probably how it should be.

Ever been to a game in Nashville? When the JLA adds flame throwers, country music, train whistles, and mullets to the typical fair I will stop making fun of the predators fans. Hockey games in Nashville are quite possibly the closest you can come to being at a monster truck show without having any trucks involved.

Ovechkin has 3 more points and has played 1 less game, I don't think that negates any of his original points. Considering the ridiculous amount of attention Ovechkin receives vs. Datsyuk I don't think those 2 stats change the perspective at all.
