It's kinda sad when I'm happy to see some drama that isn't related to lucky breaks for the Wings' In this case I'd say it's the defenseman's job to deal with Avery's BS.

I completely despise Pierre Mcguire and wished death from testicular cancer on him during the game yesterday...my girlfriend said I was being too violent and left the room I stand by my statement.

I don't know where people get this "Downey is a liability" s*** from when coming up with arguments against him being in the lineup. I'm not saying he necessarily should play because of his lack of offensive capabilities, but if you're going to argue against him playing, at least get your facts straight. Downey has never once proven himself to be a liability or take stupid penalties in over 50 games this season. Is this going to turn into that other moronic thread?

This is the part that seems to be overlooked in the widely syndicated AP article which basically says the Wings ONLY won because of the officiating. No mention anywhere that the captain of their team has 1 shot on goal in 2 games...not like that's important or anything ^^

Can't say for sure, I've been around but I don't know all the county names, I just figured I'd catch some s*** if I said people in Oak Ridge were poor and stupid...from what I remember it's supposed to be the highest concentration of PHDs in the entire country

Regardless of the devil's advocates who consistently appear on the forum and say these kinds of comments are inappropriate and classless...it is what it is, having been to Nashville's arena for 5-10 games, it's definitely more of a monster truck show atmosphere than a hockey game. Teeth and shoes are luxury items in Tennessee, except for Oak Ridge of course ... Alright, so maybe I am an *******, GO WINGS! ^^

Rafalski was really off last night, one of his worst games of recent memory. I'm sure he'll get it together though...

Lilja stepped up a lot in the playoffs last year, and the potential for physical play is there from him, not so much from Lebda.

Let's hope so...I fully expect him to crush our enemies, see them driven before us, lamentations of the women of Nashville...etc etc

This thread has no basis in reality. Downey is going to play whether you agree or not, I'm skeptical that Babcock is going to pull him out the lineup based on the "threat" of him taking a bad penalty in the series.

Nashville's "De-Troit Sucks" is usually pretty irritating when watching the games on TV...I wouldn't be opposed to the JLA crowd sending them a nice "Go home pred-necks"

Downey hasn't done anything this season but exceed everyone's expectations as far as his play goes, his intelligence on the ice when it comes to picking his moments, and his overall impact on the team from what I've read as far as the morale and attitudes in the locker room. He has earned a spot on this team by filling a necessary role. Hudler on the other hand, while I'm happy he got the confidence boost in the last game with that goal, has certainly earned the potential healthy scratch more so than Downey, especially when it comes to physical playoff hockey. Hudler is a ragdoll out there who never fights through anything which is exactly what we don't need to see.

I'm not a fan of Samuelsson and would rather see one of the scratched forwards play in his place. However, most of the time when I come on the forum and complain about him, he turns around scores an important goal and makes me eat my words...so let's hope for that if he's going to take up a valuable slot in the lineup.

How many stupid game-breaking penalties has Downey taken so far this season? what's that you say, zero? yea...that's what I thought. Downey should definitely be in the lineup.

I believe Downey was 4th in hits on the team in past 3 months, despite only playing an average of 4:35 per game, as mentioned on MLive...Downey has proven he can be useful without making stupid mistakes. I don't hear anyone mentioning Drake's awesome -12, simply because he's semi-useful on the PK. You can't totally discount Downey as "just a fighter".

Babcock is great at choosing his words with the media, in reference to Nashville beating the Wings - "I heard how bad we were and how they were just going to beat us like a rented mule.''

Obviously I can't speak for the team, but I'm pretty sure this is exactly the lineup we're going to see...Lilja stepped up immensely in the playoffs last year and I'm hoping to see the same this time around.

Where are all the people now who defended Laperriere last time with the Lidstrom situation? "He's just a hard working player, not dirty at all" etc etc...yet here we are once again.

Agreed, glad to see Mac getting in there. Props to Hudler too, I've been hard on him around here lately but I'm glad he got a little confidence booster with this game.

Any team in the playoffs could potentially upset any other, that's not to say I think the Predators will do it though

I don't believe I came in here and said, "f*** the capitals and all their fans, they're complete pieces of s***" nor did I tell anyone else that they need to agree with my dislike for the team. Maybe you should climb down off your high horse just because I don't love every team in the NHL. You mean to tell me there are no teams in the entire league that you don't like?
