Get Downey ready for the 3rd...this is going to get ugly
-
Oh noes...I sure do feel bad for him and the Ducks organization...QQ
-
Have you been watching the same games as the rest of us? Downey has done exactly what he needs to do, and done it right. I'm all for McCarty coming back, but we haven't even seen him play in an NHL game this season, let's hold off s***ting on Downey until we see how this pans out...
-
I agree, I think the main problem here is that the choices were limited with the options detroit had trade wise...who else could they have really gotten that would have made the difference people are expecting? I've been happy with Stuart's play so far, and if he steps up in the playoffs he could be a real asset.
-
Tough call when it's two teams you despise...too bad they can't cancel eachother out.
-
Hilarious...anyone on the ducks referring to anyone else as "Classless", wow...just wow.
-
Solid player, personality of a ****** bag.
-
That is true...post-game quotes mean jack s***. Have you ever heard a post-game quote after a dirty hit where a player didn't say he hoped the guy wasn't hurt? That's not a good justification. Just sayin
-
Geez...the way people defend Laperriere around here, you'd think he was Hudler. This guy knows what he's doing, he's a scumbag, this is what he does...obviously do as I say, not as I do is going to be his mentality, he's going to hit all your star players, and expect you to leave his teammates alone. What else could he say honestly? I don't fault him for it, but at the same time that doesn't mean I'm going to say "blah blah he's just a hard working grinder"... just keep on turtling douchebag
-
Solid enough, him and Kronner were our only dressed defensemen who didn't end up in the minus category
-
You can't rely on statistics to constantly to justify Hudler's sudden drop off...the fact that he shows absolutely no grit or determination, on top of the fact that he's tiny, isn't helping his game at all. I'm not saying Downey should be playing 15 minutes a night, but he should remain in the lineup, because right now he's proving more useful than Hudler. And while we're at it, just because Samuelsson finally took a shot that hit the net, don't expect him to be off the chopping block around here either...
-
The NHL demonstrates the reason why it consistently fails year in and year out...BULLs***
-
Hudler go somewhere that isn't here. Samuelsson give him a ride there.
-
I don't understand why Downey is always taken out of the lineup in the games he would probably prove most useful. If the Kopecky - Hartigan - Hudler line somehow turns out to not be a complete waste of space then I'll eat my words, but until then this logic defies me.

I'm tired of hearing the "mortgage our future" excuse...are we trying to win a cup each season? or are we just focused on winning some hypothetical cup someday.
-
So we got McCarty...not exactly filling any the roles we had supposedly been looking for.
-
I don't think Holland is a bad GM, and I'm definitely not one to hate on him most of the time...BUT...if we make no moves today, it's going to be hard to justify his actions.
-
Jokes aside, I think this would be pretty entertaining to see assuming the top 2 lines above them can handle all the offense
-
I'd take both of them and wouldn't complain. Federov ain't Hossa though, so I'd expect a s***storm around here in that situation...

THN's Costello: Laperriere's hit on Lidstrom not dirty
Mors replied to Yzermania19's topic in General
Lidstrom himself said getting the elbow up was unnecessary...he had the mark on his face to show it. Not necessarily dirty, but uncalled for... -
Ericsson has done well for a new guy, but he still has a ways to go before looks totally confident in an NHL environment. He ended up -3 last night. Meech on the other hand seems to really be stepping up, I've been pleasantly suprised.
-
Howard made some big saves last night, despite the final score. I definitely think he has a lot of potential in the future for this team.
-
Who said Kindl was playing? I got the impression from the call up that this guy Stafford would step in?
-
Interesting, kinda sad the first thing I always have to check with the new guys is if they fight Found this on his bio: On April 30th, 2004 Stafford was playing for the Cleveland Barons against the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Calder Cup playoffs when he got into an altercation with Hamilton's winger Alexander Perezhogin. Stafford cross-checked Perezhogin in the face resulting in them both falling to the ice and as they were getting up Stafford took another swing with his stick, this time making contact with the back of Perezhogin's helmet. In response, Perezhogin swung his stick into Stafford's face as he was getting up. The slash knocked Stafford unconscious resulting in a concussion and sending him into convulsions on the ice as well as causing severe facial wounds which required 20 stitches to repair. Perezhogin was charged with assault causing bodily harm and was given a one year probation as well as being ordered to cover Stafford's medical expenses and donate a further $5000 to charity. Perezhogin was also suspended for the rest of the playoffs and the whole of the 2004-05 season, the longest suspension in AHL history. Stafford was also suspended for six games for his part in the incident.

He's listed as 6'5 225 Lbs on all the sites I've seen, just google his name...250 is just the wishful thinking of Wing's fans
