I'm not happy about this, and I'll be pissed if we lose him. Also, I don't feel like Kopecky's 2 points in 14 games merits the type of livid defense he's getting around here...he's a tall guy that plays a small, sloppy game, and his potential means dick if he shows no signs of improvement.

I'm going to have to call Comcast and complain then...I have Center Ice, full digital package, HD, etc, and it still says I have to pay to sign up for NHL network. FAIL.

Baltimore here, Comcast with center ice package....no game on Center Ice, VS, or otherwise...however it is listed as being on the NHL Network, but this is a pay channel. What the f*** did I pay for Center Ice for if they're just going to come up with another pay channel that blacks out my games?

I think it was the original Kronwall injury article, but I definitely remember reading that Drake was considered below Ellis and Downey at this point since they've both been playing well and filling their roles...

During the 2nd period when one of the canucks took a little run at Kopecky, I was so happy to see Downey (who was about to get off the ice) immediately step up and push back...

I haven't had the chance to watch any of the Minnesota games yet this season, but from looking at the numbers I'm guessing they're still playing nothing but the trap? 6-0 or not, what an excruciating way to watch a hockey game...

Rafalski looks great on offense, but I don't think he's looked too hot defensively so far. This was definitely his best game yet,.

Downey got me out of my seat, and he cut Mclaren's head which made me happy after taking Drake out of the game.

I really don't see the potential for Downey to do any worse than Ellis or Kopecky has so far, at least during the 2 minutes that Downey played last game I could find him on the ice...'cause he was the only one out there actually trying to put the body on. Kopecky is a 6'3 ******, maybe if he feigns injury he'll have a valid excuse for playing like he's scared.

AWESOME! I hope he takes one to the f***in head every game until he's done. This guy is nothing but a scumbag cheapshot artist. And he didn't stay down 'cause he was hurt, he stayed down cause he's a *****. EDIT: And it is pretty interesting how the predneck announcers somehow avoid the topic of what exactly Tootoo was doing that led to the play...

Well, at least Kopecky got in on the play yesterday and led to Draper scoring...Ellis is just a warm body out there, he might as well be invisible.

I'm usually on the Kronwall hater train with the likes of em, but I actually don't think he's been that bad so far in the first 5 games, and certainly not our worst defensemen (:cough: LILJA :cough:) Rafalski has looked good offensively, but I'm not impressed by his defensive play at all...either he's not fully adjusted yet, or all the people who were hating on Schneider talking about how Rafalski is better in every respect need to reassess the situation more honestly. At least when Schneider was pissed he could lay someout out...Rafalski has gotten punked several times in the first 5 games.

You bring up a good point about Drake...if he hadn't gotten in 3 random fights for my amusement, I'd probably be pretty pissed about the fact that he's -5 now in 5 games. And to answer the question directly, if Downey didn't fight and stir things up, I wouldn't give a s*** if he ever played. We have plenty of guys to do the rest.

I think it's embarassing to lose to the Blackhawks twice...but I dont have anyone specific to blame.

I think the bottom line of this whole discussion after yesterday's game is that Ellis and Kopecky both contributed nothing positive or negative to the game, so what would it hurt to at least alternate with Downey if he's only going to get 3-4 minutes of ice time anyway. At least he'll do some hitting...
