Good for Nabokov. This isn't just about being claimed by a perennial bottom feeder, it's about being claimed by one of the most poorly managed franchises in all of professional sports. How can anyone blame the man for not wanting to deal with the consistently bad decisions made by Garth Snow and Charles Wang? Of all the teams to possibly be claimed by, the Islanders are definitely a nightmare for any player.

When will the Hudler "jump starting" end? This guy plays like he took floating lessons all summer from Brett Hull and Robert Lang. The PK is suffering so he can skate at 50% effort.

Have to agree with some of the comments, I think it's very cheesy for "the victim" to try and immediately cash in on this. Yes it was inappropriate, but nothing came of it, he should laugh it off.

I thought Owens was really impressive last night, despite Babcock's comments about Emmerton and Mursak, I thought Owens was a bigger presence than either one of them. Owens-Abdelkader-Helm would be a serious forecheck. -

What's the point? a big non-physical defenseman to play in the 6th spot is exactly what we DONT need.

A lot of these seem like ideas for a video game, not actually plausible changes to improve the sport. Particularly the "Overtime: three minutes of 4-on-4; three minutes of 3-on-3; three minutes of 2-on- 2 followed by shootout (5 players per team)." which is just ridiculous.

Adding Mitchell to the defense would be pretty great, this team is shaping up to be a serious threat. The season can't start soon enough.

Why is this surprising? all evidence suggests that Ovechkin is in fact, a ******. 1. Interview where he's doing 185 mph in his Benz on 495 in DC = ******. 2. Pushing a girl and knocking her camera out of her hand = ******. 3. Snowing the little kid in Montreal = ******.

I'm thinking Ritola is history, unfortunately he never got a chance to really prove himself, but I don't see Holland dumping Miller or Eaves at this point, and I'm guessing Modano will sign shortly.

Not what the Wings need, but I certainly wouldn't complain about it. I'd rather see Modano signed than Maltby.

I call it like I see it...there are at least 10 guys out there right now who could easily fill this role at a salary the Wings can afford. If Holland can't see them, then he's choosing not to.

I'll believe it when I see it. Holland is looking for some mythical creature for the 4th line who will score, hit, fight and do it all for $500k and either be European or over 35 years old.
