Add me to the list of "crazy" people that don't think $6 million is an adequate discount considering the amount of money Lidstrom has made in his career and the cap situation with the team. He could have easily taken $5 million and it would have had no effect on his family or his lifestyle.

I forgot the NHL consisted of 30 teams, meaning the Penguins and the Capitals. Maybe in the future they should just cancel the playoffs and have these two teams play a best 16 out of 28 series. In all seriousness, he's right. This is unprofessional and disrespectful to the teams and their fans that haven't gotten a chance to participate in this event. If they announced the Wings were in a game, I would say the same thing, it's just not right regardless of Bettman's soul-less economic factors.

Hudler is above average defensively? Hudler works hard? I'm sure you'll provide some miraculous stats to prove these opinions. Hudler is not a two-way player in any shape or form, and he disappears against bigger, faster teams (because he absolutely cannot out-muscle anyone in this league). Just FYI.

Looks like SJ saved their choking for a more crucial round, too bad it had to be against Chicago. The NHL will definitely enjoy marketing a Chicago/Philly or Chicago/Montreal match-up more than SJ anyway.

I have no problem signing him to a two year deal, the only people still hating on Bertuzzi are those with a personal problem with him. At this point it's difficult to legitimately fault his performance based on his pay grade.

Kopecky is a joke, I like how no one mentioned Chicago has been throwing him on a line with his girlfriend Hossa which is where he generated the majority of his playoff points. Jesus, can't believe we're back to talking about this clown...especially after he did NOTHING for the Wings EVER.

Bertuzzi deserves to be re-signed, not just because of last night, although it certainly helps make the case. He looked great out there, two amazing passes that led directly to goals and the nice redirect that Babcock has been looking for.
