I just came to check the score, as I was watching Canada Russia tonight. When I saw the dats goal on youtube already I got excited... and definately was not dissapointed.
-
^sweet pic mindfly.. Pumped for Canada USA tomorow, each goalie will have to be very solid. Looks like it will be McCollum vs Tokarski.

our boy has ditched his Itech Prodigy pads and is now wearing Brians Dx2 pads which are very similar to conk's. The gloves are Brian's Zero G, he was in Itech Rx9 gloves to start the year.

I cringe thinking about the crap that Reebok and the NHL produces these days. Unless you take your jersey to an independent and get the proper letters/numbers from STAHLs... the quality is no good. (authentic = tackle twill... replica = some screen printed material) We have gone over it a few times on this site, and most people wont care about something like this, but I know there is others out there that notice these things. The quality of these products are slowly getting worse, and we are paying more!

robat... i hate you...haha just saw your hudler se16, you lucky p.o.s here's a pic of the twig for everyone else...

Here's a few more pics... we should just turn this into an official thread for all Wings equipment related stuff, as it seems alot of people are interested. Looks like Shanny was still using a two piece last year... you can tell the difference in color of the blade. A few other things you guys might have noticed this year.. Sammy with his Salming stick... he might be the only one in the NHL that uses Salming, maybe a few others here and there. Also might be the only guy in the NHL that tapes the cuffs of his gloves with clear shin pad tape. Sammy Lids has left/been dropped from Easton, he clearly stole that ugly visor from Rafalski's stash after the nose injury early this year. Lids

I think its awesome that some guys still prefer the wood, or two piece with wood blade. Kyle Wellwood is still using a two piece, and Im pretty sure that Crosby still uses a shaft+blade combo with sher wood blades, and just has them painted black so it blends/looks like a one piece. Shanny has also always been about the Easton Classic+wood blade. here's a pic of Sergei using probably my favourite looking stick ever... the original Easton Ultra Lite with Christian Blade

the pro's get the new products long before it goes to retail... the stuff your talking about should be out pretty soon... and the easton stuff is already out I think (if your referring to the se16)

So the Barn is closing... I picked up 4 tickets today, they are pretty much sold out at this point. If you havent been there, this place is gorgeous as far as old hockey arenas go... it was built in 1924. I got the chance to play there last year, it was my first time being inside. Shame I had to wait until their last game ever to go watch my first game... but better late than never I guess. It was tough to see the Knights leave the Ice House in London, as It will be really tough to see the Wings depart from the Joe someday. the OHL arena guide has a nice writeup about the old Barn, I can't wait to get rowdy and see how loud this place can get one last time. Well that was a fun night... the place was packed. They started by showing a video and a few short speeches, the ceremony didnt drag on too long which was good. Good game, McCollum was VERY solid, im assuming there were a few Wings scouts in the building. Oh and everyone should listen to beeRyce... both Ellis and Hall are amazing hockey players, they will be cutting up the NHL very soon. Closing ceremonies had them taking the banner's down and a jersey presentation. Can't wait to get over to the new building, It looks pretty nice.

heres a few pics of Windsor's new Uniforms and Logo's for anyone interested... big thumbs DOWN imo and for anyone going to the game... (from windsor's website)

Id reccomend this to any hockey fan. Its such an intimidating place, and walking from the tiny concourse into ice level is awesome. Similar to the feel of walking out into the field area at Tiger Stadium, or going through the curtains at the Joe. Im pretty excited to see this years Spitfires team, they are currently 22-2-0-0, and are #1 in the CHL polls.

they are playing Guelph... im assuming we will get to see McCollum!

It's located off of Lauzon Parkway and Tecumseh Road, behind the old Wal Mart.

that was gutless at least drop the gloves. Cant believe nobody attacked him after that.
-
the ASG in Minny is the only time they have been close to getting the All Star jerseys right. They should not look like something that we see in the NFL and NBA all star games.
-
Wellwood has slowed down, but he equalled last years goal total tonight with his 8th, and it was a beauty. I would love to see the lifeguard pic again its awesome

hahahha this thread is awesome... I have now learned multiple new things, including Mo's real name, and the fact that he is pretty obnoxious in public (something that I probably could have guessed anyways). I still love to think about Mo gettin busy on the stairs in the lower bowl hopefully he has not retired. I remember being there to see the knitting lady and the orange hat guy, sucks to hear that they might both be gone. It will be a sad day when we don't hear Bud on the PA anymore... its good that he is still doing the intros and 3 stars.

we love that guy in London, he went to Banting highschool which is down the street from me, and played University Hockey at UWO (Western). Having a successfull NHL career after playing Canadian University Hockey is something that you dont see very often.
-
I like MO... i know he is corny and his act is tired, but I dont get to the Joe very much, so when I do, I cant help but smile when I see him going up and down the aisle shaking and grooving
-
as much as I love the guy, this is completely true. He floated around in Junior and got away with it, but in the show that crap does not work. It is well known that he hates going to the gym. but when you watch him rip goals like he did the other night with those amazing hands, its hard not to wonder "what if.. "

i-have-talent-coming-out-the-ass ...man

yea I hope he continues to improve, players like Lucic seem to be getting less common these days. T.O might end up ripping off Florida by getting Van Ryn for McCabe + his salary.
-
This guy (and a few others like Griffey) have had me brainwashed since I was a kid. Feds made this gear fly off the shelves, even though it wasnt the best quality stuff. You gotta admit, it doesn't get much cooler than THIS

$$$$$$$$$$ I know he doesnt need it, but money is probably the biggest reason.... and Easton knows that his career will be over soon. The Lidstrom pattern on Easton sticks will be replaced in the next few years, (I hear that Zetterberg will have his own pattern soon!) Lids has also been spotted wearing Bauer skates... he has been in Easton wheels for the last few years at least. Also like someone else mentioned, Draper has been involved with Warrior, and so has Hossa. This is the first time ive ever seen a LGW discussion topic on the specifics of equipment...and I love it!
