    We WILL win game 5.

I can't count the Wings out until that chubby woman is singing. I have to admit though, before the season began, with Stevie and Shanny gone, I didnt expect much. Can anyone agree with me that the Wings exceeded my expectations? If they dont bring the cup home, I would not be upset.

Who owns this town? Wings or Pistons?

    Tigers?

    Bertuzzi

Too soon to tell, I think. A year from now we will all have a better idea of where he is, physically and mentally.

I have never been a Hasek fan

@ HockeyCrazy3033 Dont get me wrong, I like OZ. But I feel Dom is better. Oz did bring a cup here. But I have seen both play for years, and Dom is better. If it was not so, then why was Oz brought in solely for the purpose as a backup to Dom? @ ForsbergisaFairy You know I didnt mean the games, but at practice, and those "fun times out on the ice. Every goalie I ever played with WANTED to get out of the goal and do something different when there was nothing at stake. We all did/do what we do best. I was a defenseman, so I aways played wing when I could. (I just sucked at center). In a nutshell, defense is not as fun. With that said, Dom is a ectentric person, and he needs to roam, IMO.

Personally, I think Dom's free wheeling style is what keeps him fresh at his age. I played a LOT of hockey, and the goalie position is the most boring. I know most goalies want to get out of the crease and have some fun. Dom does just that but at the expense of my ticker. Every time he is out, my heart stops. The man has 6 pieces of hardware in his house, saying he was the best in the league. Dom is a true competitor, not many men over 40 can compete (and DOMinate) on such a level. Give the man a break. If OZ was starter, the Wings would have been playing golf the last month.

    Bertuzzi

I always thought of Bert in high regard as a hockey player. Sure, I hated to see Bert pummel Chelios to a pulp during that series against Vancouver. And he did have an "incident". But I know that Wings fans would have been behind him had he done what he did for one of those people wearing the red wheel? Bert is not in his prime anymore, and he came off a BIG injury. You can't expect him to muck it up to the point where he is back on the slab having surgery? Personally, I hope Todd does stay on the team a few years. The man has great hands, is very tough, and perhaps the only player on the Wings that can stand up to anyone in the league.

    Post-GAME 4 (5/17): Ducks 5, Red Wings 3

I thought it was a good game lastnight. It was fast paced, lots of flow, and had good tempo. Wings lost, but, hey, you can't win 'em all. I things the Wings looked much better on the road, and I hope they can bring it back to the "D". This series REALLY reminds me of the Sharks series. And I wonder now if the Ducks are getting tired. Oh, I think the Wings are much more physical than the Ducks imagined them to be. Seems they are getting injuries now.

    PLYMOUTH WHALERS 2007 OHL CHAMPIONS!

I regret that I dont support this team enough. Great job Whalers.

Pronger: "They can't handle us 5-on-5..."

Personally, I think the Wings are showing signs of fatigue. Those last 2 series were against good teams, unlike what the teams the Ducks had to play. Wings can't play 5 on 5 with the Ducks, based on the 2 games I have seen. I hope they can steal one on the west coast.

    What are the chances.....

It would be cool to have more than one win. Of the group, I think the Pistons have the best chance, I dont think there is a team that can compete with them. If the Wings can win this series, I think they will go all the way, but I have a bad feeling. Tigers, well, their pitching is suffereing at this moment. But I think they have a great chance. Lions on the other hand, well, I would be happy if they get 6 wins this year.

    Fans where are you

You'd think ticket prices would have gone down, with the "new NHL" salary cap, as the Wings can't spend $70m anymore.. Seems that Mikey is pocketing some dough.

So you hosers won. Now then.....

I have to say through this playoff series, I have come to appreciate the SJ Sharks team. Good speed, good tallent, well coached, and physical (without being cheap shot artists). IMO, it was the best hockey I have seen in quite some time.

    Goodluck to all

Hell of a nice sentiment from someone "on the other side". I feel it has been a great series. Ofcourse, you want your home team to win in 4, but that would not be good really. I will be watching the game tonight, and I feel SJ has a better chance to make it a 7 game series.
  14. Pucker

    So, 6 or 7 games?

Despite all the compaints about poor play, ref's, etc., I thought the SJ/Wings series has been great. I think the quality of hockey has been great, and the foolish cheapshots (Calgary) are pretty much non-existent. As a fan of hockey, I do hope this series does go 7 games. But I don't know if my panic-meter will pop. I see 7 games in this series. What do you think?
  15. Pucker

    So, 6 or 7 games?

I think the winner of this game has the series.

    Paging Datsyuk

Personally, I think that Pavel seen the hit Scott Stevens put on Koslov, and he wants NO part of that. Yea, I think he is afraid of getting cranked.

    Cheli on A2Y and WDFN

Thanks for linking that. Chris mentioned pressure and mistakes, and I believe that this is what will decide the series. It seems that pressure causes mistakes and goals. The 2 teams are so evenly matched, IMO.
  18. Pucker

    So, 6 or 7 games?

The Great Nick himself said, there is a lot more pressure playing at home, as the Wings were heading to the land of fruit and nuts. I think (and hope not) that the Wings will loose this next game. Isn't it not true that either team won back-to-back? A high percentage of teams that win game 5 go on to win the series. You know? If the Wings don't make it to the cup, atleast they made it past the first round, for a change. Me, I am not upset at all on this "rebuilding year" that was predicted for the Wings last fall.

    Hasek vs. Nabby

Actually, I think that Hasek has been the better of the netminders in this series. Hasek has had FAR more work to do, as more of the game has been spent in the Wings end of the ice. And I feel he has had to make more difficult saves. Both Goalies have played well, but I think that Hasek has been more important to their respective teams.

GAME 2 (4/28): Sharks @ Red Wings (LIVE)

Pit a fork in the ass, the Wings season is done. Sharks WAY outclass that team from D, Go Lions.
  21. Pucker

    Here comes the bluster..

Oh, I forget with my bad memory, now many cups have the sharks had now? They may very well win the cup this year, but to say such things is designed to "get into the head", if it is indeed true. Say such things to Gordie Howe or Stevie. Yea, they were consistent too.
  22. When I think of all the Wing's players that are either not playing or not playing up to full potential, well, it makes me wonder how much further the team can remain competitive. Jeez, Homer-out-eye Kronwell-out-back Lebda-out-ankle Zetts-in-back Bert-in-back Sammy-in-broken hand Calder-in-broken hand Any others? And that does not include players who are keeping "hush" on their injuries. It will take a lot of guts for the Wings to win the next round, IMO.

No VERSUS? No Wings for Games 1 & 4

I called WOW to complain avout the VS games being digital only. Everyone with WOW should call and complain. Mess up them buggers. Damned if I am going to pay the extra $$ just to see a couple of games. (Going to a friends house to watch the game though)

    Luc Robitaille picking Sharks!

I never was a Luc fan, I didnt understand the hype. But still, I am fearful (and I always am) with the Wings at playoff time. I was hoping for the Stars, but they lost.

    Dan Cleary

What can you say about Dan Cleary? Heart that defines what hockey is all about, over-achiever, the guy who was lucky to be on the team? Danny was indeed lucky to get on the Wings, he got there out of heart and determination. And he has become THE highlight player on the club. He reminds me a lot of #19, but without the god given tallent.
