I don't care how much of an ellite level athelete you are, if you are playing that much at such a high level you will fatigue. The key is the WIngs need goals early and often. Even games still benefit us late in the 3rd while overtimes certanly are strongly in our favor!

Shouldn't the title of the article read "The NHL and it's fan base regret Wang purchasing the Islanders"

I agree, fortunately we won the game. I personally was really really surprised that we had as many SOG as we did. Poor passing and no real good presence to the net in 5/5 play. We looked like we had lost a step from the 1st round and I don't think it was b/c of the opponent. The Jackets came harder at us the Ducks did tonight. I'm wondering if we will stay healthy in this run .

how did he float? Watch it again. THe puck was passed and brown swung around toward Huds and layed the hit as Hudler was standing there. Thats the fundamental start to a dirty play-seeking out the hit. He could have gotten a charging on top of everything.
-
When you look at the announcers on VS discussing the hit both were 100% in favor of a suspension without much discussion. When Pronger drilled Homer in 1997 I recall that they were split. Given the nature of the politics of head hits he gets a suspension and I bet it is 6 games like DB. They will intentially make a statement with him. It was dirty. Calling it playoff hockey is like calling boarding a playoff check. Doesn't really matter what you think in the end, it is illegal and will be dealt with appropriately.

Lets take it to em Pronger tries to step on the Mule's hand with the blade of his skate and Bettmen gives him a 10 K bonus. A shift later he tries to elbow Holmstrom but knocks out Perry who was trying to get in on the sandwich. Homer gets 2 goals called back as he is the late guy comming off the bench. Mike Babcock pulls out his tranquilizer dart gun and takes out the back ref. Lilja slips in our press box giving the puck away to Selanne as Kronwall comes in with a massive open ice hit, the ice tilts and the Wings Win!!!

You guys are a million times more creative than the Jackets thread! You gotta love that Waldo's a wings fan! HA!!!!

Intent to interfere penalty! LOVE IT!!!! How many players have had goals called back in the Conf and SCF's because of their reputations? Maybe we should send Carlyle a book of Etiquette.

DET/ANA 4-2 VAN/CHI 4-3 BOS/CAR 4-2 WSH/PIT 4-3

Everyone knows that the Ducks top line tore through the end of the regular season and the Sharks series. When you compare and contrast the sure talent between the Ducks top line this year and last years Penguins team, IMO I think the Penguins had a better line. Prior to the SCF's they were explosive. I'm not sure how if any comparisons can be drawn, but I'm pretty confident with our chances against the Ducks. Lidstrom and Z are going to be all over that line like they were with Crosby.

Crosby scored 2 in game 3 and Hossa scored a total of 3 during the series. Thats a ton of talent for only 5 goals in 6 games. If you keep the Ducks first line to 5 goals or less the series is ours.

San Jose is the classic example of a team that has peaked too early! Bring on the DUCKS!!!!!

ROTFLMAO

Sure but I was referring to Pronger, Neidermayer's, Selanne No one tooks into consideration anyone else on our team except Cheli, Hasek etc when they want to call us old, I figured I'd influence the tide. Nevertheless, thats one really good line. Can't wait to see them against a solid defensive forward line. Calling Ryan their star at this point in time is like calling Hudler our star. Certainly Hudler's talent is overshadowed by the rest of the team. Ryan will be a star, but not yet. (see hype of Dustin Penner, Joffrey Lupul) But I understand your point.
-
Looks like we're getting the Ducks! Right now I feel pretty confident about facing them. Sure their D is really good, but they are an old team with their primary stars being 35+ and potentially prone to injury the way they play. Pronger will do something stupid and get suspended a game, while we will be on the power play for 35% of the series. I doubt the Sharks will comeback in the 3rd.

Time to take the play to this mentally defeted team. Lets make it a reality. Sweep=more rest time for Drapers faceoff upper body injury.

Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link

http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/live/conten...KT.html?sid=101 Now they've retracted their comments. I guess thats what 144 minutes of shut out time will do for you. I guess crow is an acceptable dish in Columbus. -
Yup, I like that better than the hit! VS showed Umberger getting hit in the Sabers series last year and talk about bell ringing. He looked decorticate after the hit. I wonder if the kid will have post concussive symptoms. I hope he isn't hurt, but damn, how could that monsterous hit not take it's toll?

I salute your dedication, but I would hardly call throwing the Octopi one of the greatest traditions in hockey.
-
Great game, I thought the Jackets took the play to us in the 3rd. That club has to be mentaly defeated!
-
Keep to the gameplan, tight checking, man to man coverage, puck support, simple outlet passes, and no giveaways means a Wings victory! LETS GO RED WINGS
