What an incredible game. So many "what if's" for us. If Dats and Cleary lift the puck (one or the other) end of story Wings win. If Conks starts would we win?? None the less that was awesome even though we lost. Heres looking towards a GREAT playoff year. We are in such better shape with Hossa on our bench than we were last year, but we'll have to knock out SJ in the WCF's and not rely on anyone else. THis game goes to show the absolute importance of us getting home ice advantage over them. I think the team with HIA is the SCC. Hope Franzen is only Day to Day btw.

It's not that he constantly whines. All players will chirp at the refs when things aren't going their way or they fell like the call was biased against him. His entitlement is clearly seen in every single interview he gives. He lacks major leadership qualities and comes off as pompous, arrogant and entitled. Great hockey player yes, but he has a long way to go to until the HOF. As for his “fight”, I didn’t watch the game, so I don’t know what lead up his jersey shakedown, but he should leave fighting to the big boys. It would be a shame to see someone injure him because he doesn’t know how to protect himself.

My problem with Crosby is his sence of entitlement. People have blown so much messiah smoke up his ass that it has made his head spin. I would love to see less NHL network commercials w/o Crosby. Call him the face of the league if you want, I'd rather see the ass. (figuratively speaking) A few games of losing and he can't handle it? He should play for an organization that routinely trys to win.

These falling behind in the first 5 minutes has to stop! I don't know how many more of these games (as exciting as they are to watch them come back) I can stand. Chicago handing us our asses in front of everyone should help jumpstart them. Even thou we have lost the last 2 games, we have generally played well barring the 1st period of Saturday's game.

I'm actually happy about this. You can't blame everything on Ozzy's s***ty play but I think that some of the sieve goals have changed the Wings. I would love to see one of the kids come up and tear up the league while the team rally's behind their inexperience.

I think this may put a little egg in Hull's face, but I doubt it will have any long term implications on his status in management. Simpson is awesome on Hockey Academy. He has a huge depth of knowledge about the game and is very tied into the Oilers so, of course when he commentates it is going to sound like he is pro Oilers.

yup They have had poor lack luster performances with terrible puck possession, a ton of neurtral zone and defensive zone give aways and absent defense and poor goal tending. The good thing is it is November and they are such an immense offensive powerhouse that has carried them, but they need to play more like they did last year.

Sidney Crosby is the greatest thing that ever happened to the NHL. He is the best player in the league and will win more championships and art ross trophies more than any player to date.

I'd much prefer to see the Wings win Cups than the days of Probert bashing the hell out of people while we all went home after another losing streak.

No one was picking the Wings last year or even in the first two rounds. No one has ever given Ozzie any credit. He'll retire with HOF credentials and numbers but isn't likley to get voted in *but thats another story * and how ever loaded this team may be, it is always good to be the underdog.

The Suspense is KILLING ME. I can't wait for this season to begin. I think Downey will end up spending more time (much more time) in GR than McCarty. The competition for this 4th line is unbelievable!!

The Z-H-D line was the sole reason why we got past Dallas. I would keep them together and see what Hossa can do to make Flip and the Mule better. Hell, put Hossa on the 3rd line, he won't be here next year anyway.

Reading this thread is making me as giddy as a school girl! I am so excited to see the season start! I haven't been so excited to see a wings execute like this since 2002! I really really think that we need to rethink this whole Samuelsson thing!

More of a challenge in LA than Detroit? Back then the only thing Gretsky would have won here would have been a new car at one of the games.
