Sorry, but I can't sit and see that comparison based on population dynamics of MI and comparing big urban areas like the SF bay area and LA as a whole. Most (including myself) have moved away from Detroit and those that still live there are only around 4 million. Compare those numbers to the support for the WIngs 10 years ago and you realize that certain areas contain fans, while others don't. We could would likely never be able to support another NHL team in MI due to population dynamics, not fan support. Lets see where the Ducks are in 25 years.

Nashvilles not going anywhere :!: Craig Leopold has signed the letter of intent to sell the team. The consent agreement is that no one can move a team for 7 years while there is a lease with the city. The lease ends next year. There is a clause in their contract with the city (the Cure Clause). The Clause states that if the Predators fail to sell less than 14,000 for 2 consecutive seasons, then the Preds envoke the next season as the cure season. If the team fails to sell 14,000 average attendance during the season then the team may leave the city. THe city also has the option of picking up the short fall to make it to 14,000 THe predators are the only team with a greater percentage of season ticket owners that are individuals and not corporate (65% vs 35%). The average paid attendance was 13,815 per game. That is only 185 tickets the city would need to pay $320,000 to pick up the slack. The city council may not go for this, but the onis is squarly on the fans. If the preds fans step up that is enough to keep the team in the city for another 7 years. I don't think that they are going anywhere.

What are you complaining about? The Ducks are the ones getting away with all of the clutching and grabbing. THey just couldn't do it tonight. I do admire your dedication. Pronger has been doing the same s*** year after year after year. You just haven't seen it until this year. Early in his career the biggest problem with him was that he couldn't control his temper and stay out of the box. 10-12 years ago, he ended up hurting his team with stupid penaties. Now because he is a "superstar", the refs swallow their whistles and let him hurt other players.

Well said! I think he'll get more than 2 games if he is suspended. He should also be fined. His actions against Homstrom will surely affect their decision. I personally didn't think that he was going to be suspended against Homer, but was wrong. The big issue with tonights hit was the blatent high elbow to his head. What ever way you look at it, he is a disgrace. I'm sure that such actions during the NHL's first game of the finals with national american exposure, will not be appreciated. It was an ugly hit and given his history he is in deep s***.

I think that he is gone for this one! I think that he thought the same by the look on his face sitting on the bench. When the league reviews this, I hope that they take in consideration that he just put the puck in his own net. If that is on their mind, I'm sure they'll suspend him. IMO, he should be suspended for 4 games.

Boy what a game. The second time that they went down by one, I thought that their goose was cooked. Fortunately they continued to perservere. They had great puck possession but played very poorly defensively. Luckily they won the game. I hope Pronger rots for his elbow to the head!

This would be as effective for Ottawa to pull out a win as dressing Probert and Grimson, putting them all on the same line and watching the Ducks continously score on them. Why bother?

Oh come on! No one likes Bettman. He continues to make stupid decisions to try to market the sport and the sport ends up suffering (ECF turned off on NBC for pregame horse racing his most recent). Everyone hates Bettman. Most other sport fans don't even know who the commisioners are. The fact that this is a Hockey forum further depletes any valid response to a "poll" like question. There is going to be terrible selection bias. I'm a hockey fan. I could care less if there was no professional BB, Bk B or F Ball. The only other commisioner I can recall is Bud Sealy *sp?* and I don't know why his name is in my head. Kozzie was always a favorite Wing of mine. I know that he would love to return and he was always a beast in the playoffs. I love his work ethic. I'd love to see him, Dats and Hommer on the PP, as long as someone will shoot the puck. I hate to go back to the game of catch of yester year. I'd like to see him back, but his best years may be long behind him. Fedorov on the other hand SHOULD and will never be welcomed back to the Wings. Illitch will not have it.
