Exactly…NO ROSTER RESRICTIONS, which is why Marchenko has the advantage over Kindl going forward in the lineup. Marchenko will play over Kindl when healthy if Babs is given the choice. Babs has mentioned several times that he would like at least two RH D in the lineup if it is feasible. I would scratch him out over Smith or Quincey, but he plays more effectively over Kindl or Lashoff.

This...... Zidlicky is probably going to play on the 2nd or 3rd pairing, playing minimal minutes, and is going to be on the point with the big RH shot on the PP that everyone has been hoping for since the start of the season. And for once in quite a while, he came cheap! He can only help the PP which as bad is it started in the beginning of the season, is the best in the NHL right now. So looking forward to the game on Wednesday even though it is on NBCSN.

Not sure why Roenick even went off on this. Harmless push and Kane loses an edge and goes into the boards. And of course Roenick is saying that the Hawks needs to retaliate for the "non call". I hope to God that he never puts on the stripes and tries to ref a game.

Can't recall a game where the opposing goalie stood on his head and the Wings still won (Oops forgot about that game against Luango when he played for the Panthers before he came back there). Besides the 1st period in this game, the Wings seem to be dominating most of the minutes on this road trip.

That was a fun game to watch. Marchy keeps on impressing with his keep ins in the offensive zone and his positioning coming back into the defensive zone. How nice would it be to pick up a decent RH D at the trade deadline? Petry for Kindl and a 2nd sounds fair to me.

The game against the Habs was an extremely boring game. Other than the play call, there was not very much to talk about. I did notice Ken giving Mick a weird look right before the start of the game when Mick was talking about Howard and how he missed the Olympics (um hopefully he meant the All Star game) because of his groin injury. I loath the west coast trips because Mickey doesn't go on them anymore.

Love you Ozzie, but it was nice to watch a game without Mickey in which I didn't get to hear the "very very" or "really..really" on every color call.

Hoping that he can do well. Watched the video on his highlights. He has a wicked shot. I'm not sure that he will be able to do that in the NHL (He can do that wind up in the AHL but that won't happen in the NHL). Put him on one of the top lines and let's see what he can do.

With Abs on the short term IR (if this rumor is confirmed) that gives the Wings the roster room to bring one of those kids up for a bit. I believe Ansar mentioned in a previous article that Mantha could be the first call up if a forward went down. We can all dream, right?

Panthers to Vegas? Hell the attendance couldn't get any worse in Miami; (snowbirds will just flock to TB) plus that will even out the teams in each conference allowing for 3 divisions in each conference.

I didn't try to infer that the Joe was as much of a dump as the Sports Arena. I guess it was more about the feeling you got walking through the Joe or the Sports Arena. Dark and grungy compared to the other arenas. LOL, I forgot how much of dump the Sports Arena was. That had to have been the worst ECHL venue when the Storm played their last season there. Yeah, they couldn't tear that place down quick enough. The Huntington Center is so much better.

I thought this thread was about Weiss . Yes he looked like a duck out of water. He wasn't really good at handling the puck and created a turn over basically every time he touched the puck. I'm hoping that he will get better. I'm still optimistic about him.

My first NHL game and first Wings games were at the now Honda Center because I could't even get close to landing a ticket during those 97' and 98' seasons (spring break trips to SCal during college got me my first NHL games). My first game at the Joe was in 99'. It didn't matter to me that the place was a dump even at that time, because it was the home of the Wings (although you could argue the The Pond was a Wings home game when they were in town). If you ever went to the Toledo Sports Arena to watch the Storm, then you could kind of compare the arenas going from ECHL to NHL as the same. Horrible bathrooms in which you either pissed in the trough urinal or there was always some guy pissing in the sink. Hint...If you want to take a piss, grab a beer and make it back in time before the intermission ends, then hit the portos in the smoking area..just saying. Extra advice... park on the Cobo roof and you'll be in and out in about 10 minutes. Yeah, I'm still going to miss the Joe.

Crappy way to lose a pretty much well played game by the Wings. 3 of 4 goals scored against the Wings this season have been the direct result of bonehead plays in the D Zone (Big E, Howard and Smith). I'm feeling A LOT better about this team than before the start of the season. They are using their speed and winning a majority of puck battles. Looks like Babs finally saw the light and moved Goose up with Mule and Z. That line was dominating tonight once Goose was put on it. Luke is looking like Helm 2.0 (that includes not being able to finish on breakaways). BTW....EPIC GDT FlashyG

Well on a positive note the Wings PK is still at 100% (29 for 29) on the preseason so far. That 1-3-1 PP setup looks interesting although I wonder if it could lead to more SH goals against.
