I think Florida could be in real trouble with the cup hangover and significant injuries. I'd love for us to find a Gavrikov, Gudas, etc. type before they fully pop-off... someone good defensively with some snarl.

I think there's a real chance Compher is waived. Im on the fence with Burgers... he needs to be put in a Kane type role. He's not getting that here. If a package of Burgers, a 2nd rounder and a forward prospect... say Mazur can get you a solid #4D I think you make that trade. Yes/No. Any suggestions on why that could be?

I'm sure they'll not want the optics of him being with his expecting wife to be a *thing*. So he'll probably waltz back into a top-6 roll. What's up with Talbot... has he been in any preseason action? I've not seen or heard a thing about him. Just Gibson, Cossa and Postava.

At a minimum I think they should keep Finnie for a few regular season games until JVR gets up to speed.

ASP looks lost... I hope a season in GR helps, but I've pumped the breaks on his ranking.

I think we've reached a point where we need to leverage the quantity of good prospects we have by trading for a big fish. Not all of these guys will have a spot with us... the math just doesn't work.

Max Bultman tweeted that Emmett Finnie is looking very good with Larkin and Raymond. If he could ever be a top-6 guy that would be the late round gem we need. I know it's a long shot but I really like that kid and really want him to succeed.

I hope you're right... it's been incredibly frustrating watching Montreal lap our rebuild AND have pieces with higher ceilings... in-part due to luck but largely due to shrewd aggressive moves by their management.

Yzerman isn't a great GM. He's far too conservative/old school. I'm absolutely resigned to the likelihood he re-signs Chiarot... then can't find another player in FA or trade and he's with Seider for another 2 years. It won't be long before our decent players wasn't out, this team needs a bold move or two or ten.

Yeah I agree... we're at sink or swim phase of things with many of our prospects. Otherwise we'll rightly lose them as they look elsewhere for opportunity. -
Unless you get a trade for a Robertonsesque player that doesn't gut your roster make no more moves. We have guys thay can be promoted... it's time to sink or swim. This year will tell if we're moving forward or launching rebuild 2.0.

I don't want either of those guys... we need to identify players who are underused on their current team and swing a deal. No more 30 something guys who won't contribute much 2 years from now.

They drafted a lot of D but missed on most of the ones outside of the top 10.

I think Emmett Finnie is a guy to watch... I think he could develop into a 2nd/3rd line scorer.

EK is spent... bringing him in for future considerations wouldn't even make sense.

Hey it's a reclamation project... Kubalik was an important trade chip in the Dcat trade... This would be a low risk high reward play.

Losing Trev is gonna hurt... he's excellent... Keats was good too but I don't begrudge him his retirement.

Yea I've lost all faith in this front office. Other teams do creative things to get better. We trade a 4/5 defenceman with a 2nd round pick for "future considerations" because we're stuck in 1980s hockey guy logic. -
