To be clear I think he's an orthodox catholic, which is an actual religion... unlike the for profit "Christian" churches in the US, which are profit centers and tax shelters. Frankly, we made a huge mistake not having a Larkin deal done and then signing a bunch of decent FAs. We're a bad team, with no hope of getting better, welcome to mediocrity. In 5 years we'll be doing the same hand wringing about Seider and Raymond, after wasting part of their prime years. We should have endured 1 more year of pain.

I don't like that trade at all... Hronek has term he should get you a 1st and a 2nd himself, or you keep him. Zadina is worthless like a 5th+ round pick. If you're helping a team by taking salary then the price starts at a decent prospect/2nd rounder. Since we didn't take on salary to any degree the past 3 seasons when it was easier for us and more advantageous for teams under a flat cap, I don't see that happening anyway. I think we're trading any or all of: Bert - late 1st or a high 2nd and low 2nd Kubalik - early 2nd Sunny - late 2nd or early 3rd plus a 4th Suter - late 2nd or early 3rd plus a 4th Erne - 3rd Wallman - 2 x 2nds Hagg, Lindstrom, Osterle - take your pick for a 4th rounder

I have a feeling Larkin is going to leave in FA, and all the expensive mid-tier FAs we signed last year will keep us in the forever 500 territory. I think Yzerman needed to tank 1 more year, he got nervous and f***ed the rebuild. Not a popular take, but I am the Zadina soothsayer afterall.

Cossa is a top flight prospect. But as a Goalie he may or may not turn out, you take your best swing and live with it. Goalies are the hardest players to project. Luckily we have Husso and can give Cossa all the runway he needs.

Are people still wasting time on Zadina? Guys done... been replaced twice by Kubalik and now Bear-Grin. He'll hit the ice for a showcase then it's off to somewhere else via trade or waiver claim.

Teams that would want Larkin have 1st round picks that are more like high 2nd round picks... I'm not the biggest Larkin guy but you guys are on crack if you'd trade a guy who is now a legitimate 1C (albeit not elite) for a C prospect and a late 1st round pick. Ideally you sign Larkin and move assets for an extended Bo Horvat... if you have Larkin, Horvat, Copp, and Rasmussen down the middle you're an unquestionable cup contender for 5-8 years.

I'm really hoping it's a Ned trade... I think he's a UFA after the season and he seems like a guy that needs to play to be in form. It's clearly Husso's net so a solid backup is all we need. I'd put him in a package for something... we do also have a pending logjam at forward, and Johnny Bear-Grin shouldn't be sent down.
