If the cap was fair, it would be adjusted based on the income tax in each jurisdiction... so if the cap is 10M for teams in Florida with no income-tax it would be 11M in a state with 10% income tax, thus eliminating an unintended advantage for low tax jurisdictions.

Zadina hasn't clearly established himself bust yet, my prediction that he will be appropriately labeled as such is right on track. Zadina (before the hype completely fades) and #32. For #5 and a bad contract or attitude they want to move. They get a player with 2 years of "development" and the best 2nd rounder available. We get out from under a failing prospect and get a chance to let Yzerman make a good selection at 5. Those numbers aren't very impressive.

I agree with most of this... but I think Nemeth and Ganger have value to us on the roster and at the trade deadline. I'm really not into Perfetti at 4... to me he seems like a player you take if you moved way up in the draft. You've got a decent team that can afford to wait those 4 years. I also think he has that boom or bust thing going.

We've not seen anything to date that would make that plausible let alone probable. His performance has been "meh", middling, run of the mill, etc. I know I'm known for the Zadina is a bust line (which he is) but let's assume I'm wrong (which I'm not), to deem him a game breaker based on what we've seen so far is flat out ridiculous.
