    Our Young Players

You're splitting hairs... he's the best we have so we deploy him as a 1C. That's about the size of it... on a hand full of teams he'd be the 3rd line center. He's a 2C plain and simple.

Trade deadline bait available this year?

No, no, no, lots of people disagree with my take on Zadina (incorrectly), but you go out of your way to bring it and throw bait... you little troll you.

I expect 2 of those 3 won't survive the rebuild as Red Wings.

Selling high on Fabbri seems like a no brainer. By the time we're contending he'll be irrelevant on this team.

Spot on! I would add if we had another Larkinesque player we'd have an acceptable 2C/2C tandem.
  8. Wow that shot total... this team is uniquely horrible.

Trade deadline bait available this year?

I agree I think he's arguably our team's MVP, especially since US thanksgiving... but I'd sell on him in a heartbeat... anyone butthurt about our losing ways is already there. Howard/Whoever or even use the assets(s) in combination with our own assets to acquire a younger goalie with upside. Georgiev, Desmith, etc

Trade deadline bait available this year?

Any contender with need of a goalie is giving a 2nd, maybe a 2nd +. Assuming we're eating 30-50% of the cap hit.

Trade deadline bait available this year?

I think we could get a very nice return for Bernier... playing well on a historically BAD team, we can eat salary, etc. I know he's been in Toronto before... but Andersen is hurt and Bernier is arguably playing as well as him this season on a team with weaker defense and no offensive support. I think a 2nd and a decent prospect would be a perfectly reasonable ask.

    Babs got fired

Read an article on the Athletic yesterday on Turk Gallant... says he's in no rush to jump right back into coaching. That may mesh well with our timeline for dumping Trashill... but it also meshes well with Seattle's timeline.

This should get it done, also Backes gets a new lease on life... he's a lock in our top 9, more than likely our top 6... and who knows he might be a trade chip for us a year from now.

Does anyone know if the Wings org. has applied to host the all-star game of draft? I find it strange Detroit hasn't hosted these events more often.

2012-13 Naul Yakupov... G-A-PTS +/- 17-14-31 -4 You guys are getting way to excited about Zadina's short term success* *success in this case is looking like a top 9 forward who plays sheltered minutes.

We will always look back on that draft and regret what might have been... thanks to Quinn Hughes among others.
