Do you need a trail of bread crumbs? I don't think we will select LaFurniture at #1, but I don't think we will have #1 and thus another team will have made him their #1 selection.

It's worth noting that, with rare exception it's an overagers tournament and LaFurniture is a year older that Byfield. I'd be happy with either but I think we're going to draft Byfield.

Exactly, this is how the 2018 draft worked out for us, other GMs took the BPA for their internal list and didn't fall for the hype... but not Kenny, Kenny leaned into the hype! The answer is no, not necessarily, but maybe... both are Centers (harder position to master) and in Coca-Colas case hes been out with serious injury.

Thanks, I think? Sportsnet has a "5 predictions for 2020" article... their prediction is we win the lotto and take Byfield over LaFrenchFry... for the exact reasons I've been putting out there.

Those statements pretty much torch your credibility. If the much hyped potential 3rd over all pick we were soooooo fortunate to have slip to us ends up as productive Tatar who was drafted in THE SECOND ROUND... he's not a bust??? Yet I'm a monster among men for suggesting I'd not be as critical of Zadina had he been a 2nd round pick? He's had one stretch of good play, not great, not fantastic but good... calm yourself.

Doing what? Putting up with your ass hat behavior? Both assessments are spot on. If we'd drafted Zadina in the 2nd/3rd round then great... as it stands he's not lived up to his draft billing or draft position. If people can't accept that too bad but stop pissing in my corn flakes...

Drafted one year later, 1 spot earlier and on a similar trajectory. But let's chalk this up to agreeing to disagree.

I think Andersson is a flier... that goes really well or really badly. (See Zadina) I think Georgiev at a minimum will be a 1B starter and matches our core age. Note I'd not use our own second rounder... but the Washington 2nd we got for Jensen.

I think AA and a late 2nd rounder would get you Andersson and Georgiev.

Not sure but he's worth taking a flier on... 7th overall in 2017... its's doubtful he'll live up to his draft position but he may be a nice top 9 piece 2 years from now...

I think maybe we've missed the forrest for the trees here... If Comrie had such bad rebound control that after 2 games we were indifferent enough to let him get claimed... 1. Are our pro scouts so inept they missed this? 2. Did our pro scouts see this deficiency and Yzerman doesn't trust their assessment? I think this might be the real story line here...

I agree... it'll our last loss of the season. All of those players are interchangeable, I think a youngish G with potential has got to be our main target via trade. I also think Bernier should be shopped at the deadline with 50% salary retained. A contender may want that kind of insurance.

No I was playing the role.of source dick.... you know the guy who posts "Source" in exactly this scenario. It's been done to me a few times... and since its Christmas I thought why not give what I've once recieved. The bold portion is rude, inaccurate, inflammatory and unnecessary... shows what lengths you'll go to protect your boy Zadina from criticism.

Bodies then yes I get your point... but this team has prospect hope at every position other than G. Its scary bad when you start looking at the numbers.

We have 2 terrible goalies in the NHL, a journeyman AHLer starting in GR and a prospect that can't stop a beachball, and a few other prospects that aren't exactly lighting the world on fire.... and they need depth more than we do?

Wow this is a testy thread... AA is Helm with some finish, Mantha is a prototypical power forward. Each is nice to have... AA's contract stunts and streakyness make him more expendable.

On Howard what do we do with him?? Conditioning in GR, then what? I'd like to see more of Comrie... he may be something he may not but on age alone he's worth hanging on to over Howard... Could we truely embrace the tank and trade Bernier?

The homer is strong in this one... you make Jack Edwards look objective. Didn't Hirose have something comparable to 7 in 10 last season... that hype train is derailed and on fire. Apparently you do since you replied.
