I love the Seider pick! Watch that guy being interviewed he's very sharp, self-aware, and seemingly willing to be a team guy. The argument about where he should have been picked is based on mock drafts... remember these guys aren't scouts they just play them on TV.

Well the way your going on it really seems like you forgot that basic fact.

Both parties have to agree to have a deal... I'm sure they tried several trade back scenarios likely even with the 6th pick, but it takes 2 to tango. On some level you must realize this.

No... he's a solid star defender not in the elite 1d category.

St. Louis just won the cup and a few other teams who've won recently have had solid D 1 through 6 but no superstar 1D. That's the route I think we're going.

We drafted a guy who scores and nothing else last year 6th overall. A year later very few meaningful nets have been filled.

We're having this conversation today, not a year from now... the theme I was responding to was 'why are people so interested/worried/etc about the 6th pick' I offered my reason for concern/interest and you've spent 3 or 4 posts trying to put words in my mouth, referring to things I'm not posting about and going on about hypothetical future scenarios... That's a homerun... that's not what Zadina was year 1. I do ;-)

Calm down/grow up... did I say bust in my post? NO... was he a homerun NO, far from it... and I'm not on an island by myself here either.

I think this is a result of last 2 years of 1st round drafting... Ras is underwhelming and Zadina wasn't the homerun many expected, based on a his unsteady play in the A and NHL. I feel we can't have a miss or even a partial hit with this pick... personally I have little to no confidence in our last 2 top picks hence the hand wringing.

Not really Poink is decent 2nd/3rd pair guy, he's 23 and put points up and wasn't too bad defensively on a horrid Rangers team. The Jets have like 3 or 4 picks this entire draft so that 1st is huge for them. All for a guy whose had one foot out the door for 2 years.

Last year's "luck"... I surely hope that doesn't repeat itself. I think you're being overly positive :-(
