Does anyone else subscribe to the Athletic? Dom Lucźzzzzzzzyn (SP) has a great article on the wings. Be forewarned its brutally honest... you may cry a little. BTW love the Athletic well worth the 30CAD for the year.

Seriously... I've only seen Detroit media and persons affiliated with the wings make these erroneous claims about his defence. Which they will do to hype anything on the turd of a team we have and to try and preserve some of his perceived trade value. If cherry picking and flying the zone are considered defensively sound plays now, the scoring will be up drastically league wide. I love the line "but for a goal scorer, his defensive game is well above average" It's so wrong on so many levels... BUT keep the faith dude... cause last year their was little defense and few goals, and they usually came in the form of tack-on goals... yay Zadina scored 2 goals in a 5-2 win and one was the 5th into an empty net... HE'S THE MAN!

I'd ship Svech to Edmonton for Jesse... it's a potential massive upgrade or a lateral move. Worth the risk on our end... heck I'd even include Helm with max salary retained.

I agree on Gardiner... desperation might be setting in for him about now... would he take an AVV of 6 mil on a 2-3 year deal? We have the cap space and we.can make the roster space with scratchs, demotions, etc.

He's the best player on that team and drives their offence much more so than Matthews he should get the same contract or better, certainly not less.

Why a center... AA was fine in that role.

This would have been a much better addition for us than a retread in Fil... 2 years, cheap, tradeable, young enough to potentially mesh with our core, has some upside and is a veteran. But we added a 35 year old clone of a player we already have.
