Those contracts you mentioned... why were they signed??? I think any fan who looked at those players objectively thought those were excessive/bad contracts. How did an experienced management team miss the mark so badly, so often. -

Absolutely... these signings are horrific. Can't blame Yzerman for trades that aren't made because he doesn't fully control those moves. But these contracts are awful... and demoralizing to fans who recognize we have a derth of our own mediocre place holder garbage players... who we should be trying to trade or force out we should NOT be adding fuel to the dumpster fire. -

I think the new regime might be more open to freeing a roster spot by demotion than the former regime. For example if Erricsson was told you're going to be in GR this year... the roster spot is open, you still have the cap hit but we have lots of cap... and who knows he may rage quit like a 12 year old playing fortnite. -

20+ goals scored consistently, not in bunches as garbage goals in lopsided wins or losses, a +/- in the top 1/4 of the forward group, and no prolonged stretches of irrelevance like last year in the AHL. Since this is never gonna happen it's rather a moot point.

I love the Seider pick! Watch that guy being interviewed he's very sharp, self-aware, and seemingly willing to be a team guy. The argument about where he should have been picked is based on mock drafts... remember these guys aren't scouts they just play them on TV.

Both parties have to agree to have a deal... I'm sure they tried several trade back scenarios likely even with the 6th pick, but it takes 2 to tango. On some level you must realize this.

No... he's a solid star defender not in the elite 1d category.

St. Louis just won the cup and a few other teams who've won recently have had solid D 1 through 6 but no superstar 1D. That's the route I think we're going.
