We should replace Blashill, some of that dead weight should be bought out, and we should be 20th or better next season... IF this team is taking a step forward. Its highly unlikely that we go from bottom 3 to a playoff team in one off season... but some forward progress would be nice. -

He should finish the season, but be cut loose after that. An extension makes 0 sense, this team well coached could be far more competitive. -
It was the consensus of the panel they were 2 of the 4 or 5. They were making a legit point.

This was likely already mentioned, but early on in the coverage today. The Brian Burke/Kypreos table were talking about the draft. They suggested Hughes' lack of size is becoming an issue (he's getting banged up) and that Kakko is playing with men and holding up well. Hughes is still the likely #1 but his lack of size and toughness is causing some to second guess, and Kakko is on the rise.

Definite pass... this team needs to move on from that kind of wasteful spending. Year 1 and 2 of that deal are reasonable, year 3 is questionable years 4-6 are criminal.

I view Tatar as his ceiling... so let's say for the sake of argument that's what happens. I would term that a bust. A high 1st rounder turning out to be a middling NHLer to my mind is a bust, especially when at this point you're offering up Kucherov as his ceiling.

When Trotz became available I was convinced he'd be the wings new coach... that was a missed opportunity. I was also rooting for Mark Hunter as GM. But I got neither wish :-( -

Kip that's ridiculous. He was thought very highly of over his long tenure in Nashville... they didn't fare well in the playoffs once they built a decent team... that had far less to do with Trotz than it did with the Wings and Hawks and other really strong teams they came up against. The CAP playoff curse was on Ovechkin not Trotz... Maybe or maybe not... its doubtful we'd be any worse. -

Good maybe... I'm not convinced... will their be better options available I'd thisk so. A great coach can make a huge difference look at Trotz in Long Island. He's made chocolate pudding out of dog crap... nothing short of a miracle. Where do we sit this minute 2 points ahead of Ottawa (the dumpster fire of the NHL).
