Steve Yzerman to step down as GM for TBL. Will serve in "Advisory Role".
mackel replied to kliq's topic in General
I think once he's done here it'll be hard for him to get a job... if he does it'll be with a team in a non-traditional hockey market where teams have sucked for ever... -
Total Sidebar.... If we extend Blashill, does it follow that Holland remains as GM? I think many people (including myself) would love to see Yzerman step in and take over as GM. Would he be in on a resigning of Blash? Would he only want the GM job if he had the ability to choose his own staff?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.... if calling you out on your self righteous BS. is gaslighting then so be it.
-
Those posts aren't even comparable... and you know it. Not trolling, expressing my opinion...
-
Your sarcasm adds nothing to the conversation... it only succeeds in making you look childish. I think he'd have slid into the late teens, 20s.
-
He'd have slid further had we not picked him... Nail Yakupov 2.0

Good luck ^^

He will be an NHLer, if you're expecting a star he'll be a bust. So relative to the expectations (HYPE) here when he was drafted he'll be a bust. He will not be a bust if you have him pegged as a top 6 winger who is a PP specialist ie. can't back check. I see him as Vanek in the absolute best case scenario.
-
What's so funny? I watched him play in the Q fairly often.... he was there to score and nothing more. I'd trade him in a heart beat in a package for a youngish top 4 D. He'd need to be packaged with Mantha or AA to have value in such a trade.
-
You have reason to be concerned, he dropped because he's an incomplete player, who padded his offensive stats in the Q. I was terrified he'd drop to us in the draft and we'd walk right into the trap... and we did.
-
Ummm yea, they are... the NHL. lol
-
So you peg him as a Larkin type...
-
That's about as sad as the Tavares in bed with leafs kit on picture we see just about every Saturday night on HNIC.
-
Dboss who came up with that... its possibly the worst hockey nickname I've seen...
-
Zadina is looking rather ordinary against Canada... not on the ice to kill penalties, been invisible otherwise. BUST.
-
Erik Karlsson isn't the player he was before his knee surgery. I would not invest in him at anywhere close to the $ or term he'd want.
-
Guys having seen Zadina in his CHL days, I'm not sold on the guy at all. I think he dropped in the draft for real reasons. He may find the defensive side of the puck and if not he'll be a 1 dimensional NHL player or be back in Europe. Comparable: Daniel Sprong

Let's hope he turns out like any of those guys except for Lane Lambert. -

Does anyone else think a contender may have genuine interest in Jimmy at the deadline. Assuming of course he's not injured... I've been really impressed with him so far this season. -
LA is as bad as we are. Blashill has had no success coaching up any of the kids, players routinely underperform/regress under him. Nuff is Nuff... time to part ways.
-
LA fired their coaching staff today... they have 1 less point in 1 less game than the Wings.... here's hopeing this gives Kenny some ideas!!

I'd rather have Marner than Matthews, you can't go wrong with either one. -

To me this means they plan to clear salary and make a big splash with offer sheets. -

Both he and Ericsson are vastly overpaid. You don't have one of the highest payrolls in the league combined with one of the worst records in the league and not have over paid players. Our problem isn't that we have an 8-10 million a year guy playing like a 3 million a year guy... but we have numerous 3-6 million dollar conttacts for middling players. Contract's that were signed after a good year, or with overly optimistic projections of future performance, or worst of all for "loyalty" a nebulous term that means don't question us about our blatant error in signing that contract. -
What's with these young athletes and tattoos? The bigger and uglier the better... mind boggling.
