They could scratch 4-5 key players... but I'm fairly sure that won't happen.

Wow you're setting yourself up for disappointment. He'll likely be an NHL regular but I agree with CRL... alot of run of the mill 2nd rounders will have equally good careers. Where I think CRL would disagree is that I would classify this as a BUST relative to his draft position and the expectations of many Wings fans.

Though I'm sure that was meant in a mocking tone, it's exactly what he did... out crusing looking for breaking pass after someone else does the work.

As interesting a flight of fancy as that was... who said Zadina looked good? Who is everyone? Blashill surely inst going to carve a 6th overall pick publically. Come on atleast my opinion has some basis. You're looking at his draft position and little else... get off the kool-aid. Edit: you also realize he was in the Q last season not a decade ago right? You play it off like I'm criticizing based on his peewee career.

The substance is quite simple... he's been mediocre most nights in the AHL, his goal total is helped dramatically by multi goal games followed by long stretches of diddly. His NHL stint was underwhelming to say the least... though I grant you the sample size there is small Nothing about this season says star or superstar it says middle 6 forward who will intrigue and disappoint. I'd be interested in what others see... because I'm not overly impress with that I've seen.

Nah they may turn out... :-) Zadina needs to reinvent his game, flying the zone waiting for a breakaway pass doesn't work on every shift in the NHL. This is why hes pretty good in the AHL and was invisible for 8 of 9 games he played up. What once worked doesn't anymore and he's back to the drawing board.

As much as this guy should be fired this team is 2 years (or more) from being a team a quality coach who has options like Q would consider joining.

It seems Detroit drops everytime I run the tankathon simulator. Its maddening how teams jump 6 or more spots get top picks. I hope the real lottery turns out more favorably, we have enough middling first round picks that are disappointing and may flop entirely Rasmussen and Zadina I'm looking at you! -

We should replace Blashill, some of that dead weight should be bought out, and we should be 20th or better next season... IF this team is taking a step forward. Its highly unlikely that we go from bottom 3 to a playoff team in one off season... but some forward progress would be nice. -

He should finish the season, but be cut loose after that. An extension makes 0 sense, this team well coached could be far more competitive. -
It was the consensus of the panel they were 2 of the 4 or 5. They were making a legit point.
