Let's hope he turns out like any of those guys except for Lane Lambert. -

Does anyone else think a contender may have genuine interest in Jimmy at the deadline. Assuming of course he's not injured... I've been really impressed with him so far this season. -
LA is as bad as we are. Blashill has had no success coaching up any of the kids, players routinely underperform/regress under him. Nuff is Nuff... time to part ways.

LA fired their coaching staff today... they have 1 less point in 1 less game than the Wings.... here's hopeing this gives Kenny some ideas!!

Jimmy Devellano Dishes on the Rebuild, Teases Secret Plan

I'd rather have Marner than Matthews, you can't go wrong with either one. -

To me this means they plan to clear salary and make a big splash with offer sheets. -

Both he and Ericsson are vastly overpaid. You don't have one of the highest payrolls in the league combined with one of the worst records in the league and not have over paid players. Our problem isn't that we have an 8-10 million a year guy playing like a 3 million a year guy... but we have numerous 3-6 million dollar conttacts for middling players. Contract's that were signed after a good year, or with overly optimistic projections of future performance, or worst of all for "loyalty" a nebulous term that means don't question us about our blatant error in signing that contract. -
What's with these young athletes and tattoos? The bigger and uglier the better... mind boggling.

Over the summer in a thread I predicted Bylsma would be the coach by Christmas.... I may have been wrong, it might be by Halloween!
-
Larkin is a 1c on a bad team a 2c on a good team. He's very Nazem Kadri like, with a slightly higher ceiling.
-
I'd love to see him traded for a #1D, with this contract it probably won't happen now... and that makes me sad

Steve Ewen: Rasmussen a centre of attention in Kamloops as Team Canada's wing-man http://flip.it/55-HrR

Bylsma will be the head coach by Christmas.

?

Discussion on Sportsnet alluded to Vanek wanting surety and not needing to worry about moving at the deadline.
-
He got a full no trade with the contract so he's probably not getting flipped at the deadline.
-
That lineup would be very competitive I reckon. Playoff team for sure.
-
Fassbender is a terrible choice. Nicholas Hoult is a better choice and a fresh start for the franchise.
-
The Islanders "won" this draft... apart from Dahlin.
-
Barry Trotz has resigned as the coach of the Caps. He'd be a great add if we could get rid of Blash!
-
I'd do that in a New York minute.

Official 2018 NHL Amateur Entry Draft Discussion Thread
mackel replied to LeftWinger's topic in General
I'm cautiously optimistic about this draft. I hope we go D with size at 6, but I have a feeling Michigan > "need for size" and we draft Hughes. That's a pick I feel would be a huge risk and likely a huge mistake. -
The Vegas 1st, our 3rd and Nyquist or AA? I'd do it...
-
I see you're back to the usual shtick... what we need is to draft the better player and all of the available data suggest's it's not Hughes. Picking him would strongly imply a Michigan bias.
-
This is how I feel about Hughes... remove "health" and replace with "Michigan"
