I think Bouchard projects better defensively than Shattenkirk. Also I don't think he's as soft as puppy poo like Shatty.

In the rankings I'm following Huges is ranked lower than, Dahlin, Boqvist, Dobson and Bouchard in that order... the only way we draft him IMHO is if they pull the ole he's from Michigan so we'll draft him trick... which is a fireable offence. Hate this ^^ LOVE THIS ^^^^ -

I hope not... I'd highly prefer some size along with the skill... Bouchard and Dobson for me. -

Maybe, just maybe our silver lining would be Carolina winning the lottery... that might just put Hanafin or Falk in play. If we could trade AA + a 1st or 2nd for either guy and draft Bouchard or Dobson (my preferences on D) that would make our D better next year and much much better within 2 years. -
We need to be careful... throwing kid after kid into the NHL to either sink or swim is the Edmonton model. We do need character vets around to shield and teach these younger players. That said we also need to be more willing to push aside a veteran when it's clear he's no longer needed in that role. I think Daley is a character player and was a good signing. ***IF*** they resign Green it needs to be 4 million and 1 year max with no trade restrictions and that's if he has a clean bill of health.

Maybe the better question is, if we aren't in a position to draft A. Svechnikov... would the team that does draft him have interest in E. Svechnikov? If so, what could we get for him? A prospect and their 2018 2nd rounder? A 2019 1st? -

Wow, we're in for a 2-4+ seasons of this unless we can get that D-Core and Goaltending addressed. -

I'm physically ill at thought of drafting an undersized "Michigan kid" in such an important draft. -

Now the badasses sit at keyboards and meddle in elections. -
Coreau isn't NHL starter material. He's got career backup written all over him.

Mrazek traded to Philly for Conditional 3rd and 4th Picks

Years from now, we wil need to remember that atleast this trade wasn't as bad as Chicago trading Dominic Hasek for the eventual return of Christian Ruttu. That said it could be in the ballpark. -
He'd need to be in the loop, but barring him throwing a hissy fit and not wanting another shot at a cup, I'd think he'd consider it.
-
A trade along these lines would be well worth considering. Emotion aside, if a trade was out there to get a quality prospect or 2 and a 1st rounder for Zetterberg... you MUST make that deal. He'd still be a Wings alum, he'd still be fondly remembered, he'd still be a Detroit legend... none of that would change.
-
Fandom doesn't factor in for me, it's just common sense. IF you can trade the older, more expensive and materially no better goalie and keep the younger, cheaper, no worse goalie.... who still has potential to be elite. You take the chance.
-
I'd rather Edmonton get it than Chicago. Imagine if they god a stud #1d on an ELC, after missing the playoffs once in 10 years with 3 cups in that span, not to mention all of the leagues help in burying contracts.
-
I have a bad feeling that somehow or another the Hawks will win the draft lottery.
-
Mrazek was exactly where he was supposed to be. Unless of course you think he should have known exactly how his teammates were about to give the puck away?
-
We'll have to agree to disagree. He'd be the 1st guy I'd trade for a #1 D.
-
Since the wings stink the last few years I don't see as many games as I once did, in my region... but this game is revealing, Kronwall looks out of place, Larkin looks as over rated as I've thought, and we are short an NHL caliber coach. Oh and why are we trading the goalie with upside again?
