Yea he was lights out against the sharks in 93..... f*** Osgood is done, finished, washed up... lat years playoffs were his last bit of good play. his career is OVER.
-
Osgood has lost his starting job to a rook he's 37... the end of the road is near and none too soon. Trade for Halak and settle the goaltending question for good.
-
I just hope Osgood retires after the season's over, that way this board can move on... OsGood or OsBad discussions are getting old. He is what he is, a good enough goaltender who can get hot as a fircracker from time to time or who can be ice cold at other times. Other goalies of this ilk include Roloson, Emery, Guigere, Conklin, Vokoun etc. Osgood has had a good run with a great team over a long period of time.

Where can I get a list of these RFAs?
-
Hey folks... I was wondering if anyone might have a website that lists the probable starting goalies for the next night/days games... if so please post the link it would help me greatly in my fantasy pool. -MAC

Just imagine if the wings miss the playoffs or a higher seed in the playoffs by a point or two... how big will this non sense be then?
-
You're a complete *******.

Thank-you for proving my earlier point: "Clearly, since it was the fault of the Defence for the losses and Osgood's poor play early on, this recent hot streak and "better play" by Osgood can be directly attributed to the Defence right? Or does the knife not cut both ways in Osgood Apologist Nation?"
-
I've been a Wings fan for 18 years, if that's bandwaggoning then so be it... but I was there during the loss to SJ way back, I was there man, I was there...
-
Their is no face to save... again I'm pointing out that some folks here will blame anything or anyone in an attempt absolve Osgood of his poor play, but in games that he starts and we win or where few goals are scored agaisnt, its all Osgood. That dosen't add up. (PERIOD)
-
I'm pointing out that his struggles early on were blamed by many on the defence, now that we've had 3 good games he's a god like figure in the eyes of those same people. Those folks can't have it both ways, either the whole team is at fault or should be praised.

Some advice my friend... I've found that this board is no place for realistic points of view... most of the posters here are wide eyed optimists and homers. We are all fans of the wings this is true. BUT only a few of us on here are willing to call a spade a spade. Howard has been ho hum since turing pro AHL/NHL... anyone looking at his play not his "potential" would realize his career potential is more like that of Norm Maracle than that of Chris Osgood. But that assumes the blinders are off and for most here they are super glued on.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of this years free agents, I'd like to take a look at the available goalies... that way I can dream of better days to come.

Taylor Hall - Selected 1st Overall by the Detroit Red Wings, June 2010

You bet your ass....lol

Now I really, REALLY like that idea... maybe I'd send them Stuart for Halak and Sergei Kostitsyn

Will You Be Surprised if the Wings dont make the Playoffs?
mackel replied to RyanK's topic in General
We will make the playoffs, as the #6 seed in the west, #3 in the central division... thats my prediction... I also predict that at some point this season Larsson will be this teams starter, Ozzie injured, Howard sucking being the reason. Those are my predictions, am I right likely not but its fun to try and guess. -
Then why did you start this thread?
-
NASCAR is for "Red Necks" not "Red Wings"... Silly...
-
Sounds like the truth hurt you a bit...

I think having a cup at such an early point in his career made chasing the money much, MUCH more attractive. He doesnt need to take a pay cut to try and win a cup, he's been there done that. So let the big cheques roll on in.

He's a busy/rich hockey player, I doubt he'd have the time to see that post or feel the need to reply to it...

What about: Mike Sillinger Travis Moen
