If you don't want to honor a NMC or a NTC, etc don't offer it in the contract. Trouba is 100% within his rights (that NYR gave him) to block trades with his clause(s).

That shouldn't be part of the equation. Husso is a mistake, don't compound it by playing him just because you over paid him. That can't happen... Yzerman may be in mortal danger if it does lol

You're hoping against hope... we have an unrivaled collection of mediocre Defenceman and Goalies and we will use them to block ANY promising prospect until they're 28. Heck we even package 2nd round picks with mid-Defenceman in an effort to free cap to sign multiple mediocre Defenceman.

Unless something positive happens here soon I'm about to jump off the Yzerman bandwagon. If we select MBN or some other 200ft blah, blah, blah guy when trade ups are cheaper than giving away your 2nd best defenceman I'm done. -
Walman isn't the guy you dump and shouldn't need an asset attached. He's worth that contract... this better be 3D chess and not opening a spot for Holl.

I'd only consider a move down to trade Copp not Chiarot. Copp is an anchor, Chiarot is serviceable.

This will be fascinating to see play out... trading the pick, trading up/down, or making a selection at 15 are all in play I think. This could be a really exciting off-season.

I agree and that's a problem... we have enough of that type, we need some pure skill guys. We have the 200ft guys that can allow a skilled guy to flourish. I think 15, Berggren and one of Fabbri, Holl, Matta, Chairot (whichever they want) since they need we need to move cap out.

I'd really like to add Zegras. I think pairing him with Copp or Compher as one of his wingers would mitigate his defensive lapses. The other winger is TBD. I know he's not an "Yzerman type" but we need some high end skill on this team not just 2-way 35 point middle 6'ers.
