Good work by this line. Nyquist especially.
-
I'm as critical of Kindl as anyone, but for a good stretch it looked like he finally sorted it out and would become an NHL defensemen. But now in spite of his poise offensively he's gone on another run of awful games defensively.
-
Kindl is definitely having one of his off games in the defensive zone.
-
I thought Cola's been decent.
-
Holy hell Datsyuk has a bullet of a wrist shot when he leans into it.
-
He's very good with the puck offensively and I think he gets the shot through from the point better than anyone on the team. But defensively I'd say he's been making the same kind of mistakes as Smith out there.
-
I think he was out the next shift but it needs to happen right there. You crosscheck the crap out of the guy and keep railing on him even if it means you get ejected. Your team plays with a short bench the rest of the game but you at least show your goalie and your teammates, and your opponent that that kind of crap will not stand.
-
Howard intentionally run into again and bent backwards. Wings players around doing absolutely nothing. Seriously, f*** this team sometimes. Cowards.
-
nice play by Kindl breaking that up or it would've been another breakaway on Jimmy.
-
At least they're getting some chances this time. Good work by Dats and Z.
-
Nice idea there between Nyquist and Brunner. Just didn't get good wood on it.
-
Mule why did you not shoot that friggin puck. It's on your backhand but you're three feet from the net.
-
The Wings definitely have goal scoring issues, but when they keep talking about how long it's been since they've scored so few goals, do they remember this is a lockout shortened season??
-
Z!! I guess the way to score on Rinne is to miss the net! Wonder if D meant to shoot it wide. I'd think so because he missed by a couple feet.
-
that was a golden opportunity for Nyquist.
-
One of the highlights they just showed of the Wings allegedly crashing the net and getting in Rinne's face, Rinne was surrounded by three preds and all the Wings players were on the outside.
-
Franzen falls down twice but manages to ice the puck while lying down.
-
Great first period by Jimmy, that's about it. It feels like one of those games where Howard is going to have to stick up for himself when he gets crashed because no one else does. I'd be fine with a Wings D-man taking a penalty for crosschecking the crap out of someone after they ran into Howard.

I honestly don't know from the handful of times I've seen him play. But based on the minutes and circumstances he seems to get icetime, Babcock apparently thinks he is.
-
Most likely third. I agree. Unfortunately though this team doesn't have enough talent to fill those top lines. The rookies could potentially but right now they're often too big of a defensively liability. So it's become a catch 22. The wings can't afford to give up goals because they can't score, but that also keeps the more offensive skilled guys off the top lines, so then the Wings don't score.
-
It's probably because the Cleary bashing here is greatly disproportionate to his actual play.
-
2 minutes for a guy stepping on your stick. Great call.
-
Is it just me or are the linesmen been a little off this game? Not clear on signaling icings. screwing up the faceoff drop.
-
Kindl's been great in the offensive end but that whole melee in the crease is a result of him not being able to take a hit and make a play. I know I keep harping on it but the guy is 6'3" 216 lbs. Play like it.

It's open season on Jimmy this game. Meanwhile Renne apparently has a 3 foot force field around him the Wings can't penetrate.
