It's good to see Tootoo out there hitting guys. Sad that he's the only one who regularly hits guys.
-
good shift by Nyquist. meh, on the replay Zanon basically just shoved flip and his skates came up a he fell. Tootoo better be on the ice very soon and running everyone in an Avs sweater.
-
uh didn't he just leap at Flips head?

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Even without their young star defenseman, Ottawa is 1st in Goals Against and 2nd on the PK. I'm sure it hurt them offensively but I think Karlsson's contributions were overrated, especially defensively. -

I'm with you on the Matt Cooke part, but I don't see how the Pens are trying to buy a title. They're a very good team who's attracted some good playoff rentals. That happens. The Wings are no longer a top contender for the Cup so they're not going to get the aging star players willing to sign for a few months. Besides, no matter how many captains they sign their biggest weakness is between the pipes. Which Fleury will show up? and if it's the soft goalie, will Vokoun step up? -

Pittsburgh Penguins @penguins 50m Shero on 87: As of last night and this morning, no sign of (concussion symptoms). We'll be cautious but no sign of that at all #Pens Retweeted by Pierre LeBrun -
Just another example of how crazy +/- is. ericsson -5. He wasn't great but I wouldn't say he was any worse than anyone else. Lashoff had a couple big rookie mistakes, as did Kindl, they're both -1. And White is somehow even?? Only Kronwall's -4 really seems about right compared to how he played.
-
shutout ruined at least.
-
I meant mostly the miscommunication between the D man and backchecking forward, but yeah, pretty much.
-
Honestly I don't know if I'd fault him so much on that one. Leddy shot that from the faceoff circle.
-
that was pretty much a replay of the last goal.
-
Well the Wings need a right handed shot, so...
-
The crappy part is even if he did his salary counts again the cap. Whereas if he's on long term IR i think the Wings get some cap relief.
-
Maybe Sammy is taking off the skates and pads so Gordie can wear them and take a few shifts. Show the guys how to play with heart.
-
Don't forget it's a 35+ contract too.
-
It's amazing how long Franzen literally stands in place in the offensive zone.
-
Hawks up 5-0 and still outworking the Wings. Gus with another one he'd like to have back. Wings basically don't have a reliable backup so they can rest Jimmy.
-
True. Though this year wouldn't have been much of one. A 1 year deal on a player trying to turn things around. Right now it's just unused cap space for the Wings.
-
Wings got lucky. Shaw wide open straight down the middle. This could've been 6-0.
-
All I heard was Milbury say even a great player like Datsyuk gets frustrated from the Hawks intense forecheck. I didn't hear anything about calling him a dirty player.

They just showed the replay on NBC and in slow-mo you could see the teeth flying out of his mouth. Ouch. -
I know it's not the kind of engaging you're hoping for but E actually has been all over Kane this game. Pushing him around, knocking him down, it's been one of the only highlights.
-
good lord Kindl, do you not realize how big you are? give a guy more than love taps when he's along the boards.
-
I understand why from the Hawks perspective, but doesn't the intensity level make it kind of look like a pick up game?
-
I was more responding to people saying part of it is we don't have Z. The Hawks are missing a couple good players too. The Wings are just crapping the bed.
